As a lifestyle expert, I find Mallika Sherawat‘s journey in the Bollywood industry to be an inspiring one. Her ability to navigate through fame, success, and adversity is commendable. Her recent comeback in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has been a delight for her fans, and it’s refreshing to see her embracing singlehood with such zest.
Mallika Sherawat captured audiences with her performances in movies such as Murder, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and Welcome, among others, for quite some time. However, recently she hasn’t been seen on the big screen much. Her fans rejoiced to see her again, this time in the music video of Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala.” When discussing her exciting return to Bollywood, the actress expressed her appreciation for being single.
In an interaction on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel, Mallika Sherawat expressed that she enjoys the attention she receives, but also acknowledges the presence of unwanted attention as well. When queried about her relationship status, the actress affirmed, “Yes,” further stating that she is enjoying this phase. She emphasized, “I can go wherever I want” as what she currently appreciates. She also stated that for a committed relationship to work, one must consider whether the other person is deserving of their time. If someone decides to invest a significant amount of their time and emotions into another person, they should be worthy of such investment, according to her.
Despite enjoying both fame and success, Sherawat also experienced online trolling and criticism. In an interview with TopMob this year, the actress from Murder explained that she coped with this negativity by leaving the country. “I left the country,” she said. “The bullying, harassment from a certain segment of the media, the public, and the judgment I faced were too much for me to handle. It was heartbreaking; I couldn’t bear it, so I went abroad.
She stated that today, there’s a significant shift in the entertainment industry. “Nowadays, web series often feature bold characters whose attitudes are widely accepted, even including scenes with frontal nudity. Actresses are no longer criticized for such portrayals. Therefore, it is clear that things have evolved. Writers are increasingly crafting daring roles for female performers,” she explained to us.
In an upcoming film, titled “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,” Mallika makes her return to the big screen. This production, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, premiered in cinemas on October 11, 2024.
