On the same day, Carey is set to appear in the opening act for NFL Christmas Gameday on a streaming platform, coinciding with Beyoncé’s live performance during halftime at the Ravens-Texans game on Netflix.
Mariah Carey’s iconic Christmas song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” recently reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. At present, she is touring with a Christmas-themed concert series that concludes next Tuesday. For the NFL’s opening show, Mariah will perform her seasonal anthem as it commemorates its 30th anniversary. Each holiday season, this song reappears on the Billboard charts and has now been certified 16 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
On Christmas Day, you’ll find the NFL’s two match-ups right here on Netflix, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs squaring off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, followed by the Baltimore Ravens taking on the Houston Texans at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time. In the cities of the competing teams, these games will be broadcasted on regular TV, and for those in the U.S., they can also stream these games on their mobile devices with NFL+.
After facing criticism due to technical issues during the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight, Netflix’s upcoming performances by Carey and Beyoncé are highly anticipated, as some users have raised doubts about the company’s capacity to handle large-scale live events streaming smoothly.
