As a lifelong Disney enthusiast and someone who has traversed the magical realms of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and even ventured to the enchanting Tokyo Disney Resort, I must say that the upcoming It’s a Small World with Groot is an absolute marvel in the making. The thought of Black Panther, Thor, Gamora, and the rest of the Avengers frolicking as adorable dolls aboard gondolas has me all but tickled pink!
“It’s a Small World” is a renowned attraction within Disney Parks, boasting a rich history, and let me tell you, regardless of opinions, it stands among the top rides at Disneyland. It’s no surprise that this attraction can be found in some shape or form at nearly every Disney resort globally.
Regardless if you adore or despise the tune, there’s an enchanting allure about the attraction, thanks in part to its striking visuals, conceived by the legendary Mary Blair, and that catchy Sherman Brothers melody. Over time, it has experienced a few modifications, but remains essentially consistent across every location. Remarkably, Tokyo Disneyland is preparing a distinctive rendition of the ride, where the Avengers will be teaming up within It’s a Small World.
A temporary adaptation of the classic ride It’s a Small World, titled It’s a Small World featuring Groot, is set to launch next year. Tokyo Disney Resort recently released a sneak peek video showcasing some Marvel characters that will be part of the attraction. Although Baby Groot looks charming as a doll modeled after It’s a Small World, it’s the other characters such as Black Panther, Thor, Gamora, and others who look incredibly cute in their doll forms. Take a look at the teaser video below.
For the first time, it’s hard not to find some of the most powerful cosmic personalities adorably charming. Rocket, devouring ice cream on a gondola, is among the few in action, yet it seems all Marvel characters portrayed here share these uncomplicated gestures. I find this delightful!
For a limited period from January 15th to June 30th, 2025, some Marvel characters will join the cast of “It’s a Small World with Groot” at Tokyo Disney Resort. Given this temporary collaboration and the recent opening of the Fantasy Springs area, it might be an ideal time for your visit in early 2025.
It’s not uncommon to spot characters from Disney movies within the “It’s a Small World” ride. In fact, you might have noticed this at the Disneyland Resort where such integration occurred quite some time ago. As you journey through the various regions of the world depicted in the attraction, you may recognize characters linked to those areas. For instance, look up and you’ll see Aladdin and Jasmine on a magic carpet in the Middle East. Similarly, Mulan is in China, Pinocchio is in Italy, and Cinderella graces France.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always heard that Tokyo Disney Resort boasts some of the finest rides, and let me tell you, I’m definitely sensing that here. Hopefully, that Marvel makeover might someday grace It’s a Small World at Disneyland. It’s something I truly look forward to. You see, visiting Tokyo Disney Resort has been on my bucket list for ages, and now I’m pondering how I can manage a trip there next year.
