Marvel Rivals April 24 Patch: All Buffs and Nerfs

In terms of real-time multiplayer games such as Marvel Rivals, it’s important to note that the game’s metagame (strategies and tactics used by the majority of players) is constantly evolving, with new adjustments happening every season. However, the latest April 24th patch for Marvel Rivals doesn’t bring significant changes to disrupt the current metagame.

Freshly announced: The developers have unveiled details about the upcoming adjustments in the mid-season, which includes modifications for specific characters – some will receive a power boost while others will be slightly weakened. Additionally, there are explanations regarding the methods used by the devs to evaluate numbers during gameplay, helping them strive for a more balanced gaming experience.

Marvel Rivals April 24 Patch Notes

In the 13th edition of Dev Talk, developers discuss their analysis of matches during the second season, discovering a need to enhance the durability of certain Strategist characters, as suggested in their notes.

In our next update, we’re going to boost the attacking power of specific Strategist characters to raise their danger levels. This change will open up more options for your team setup. Moreover, we’ll tweak a few heroes with minor modifications.

Among the heroes that will be getting nerfed, they are:

  • Captain America – reduced survivability
  • Groot – reduced survivability
  • Spider-Man – Decrease in Spidey’s Amazing Combo damage range

As for heroes that will be receiving buffs, they’re going to be:

  • Doctor Strange – less energy required for Ultimate
  • Winter Soldier – buffs to Tainted Voltage and Team-Up ability

The notes indicate that Strategists will receive an enhancement to their attack power, boosting their offensive strength, as well as the ability to aid their teammates by healing them.

Balancing Act

In any live-service hero shooter game, developers constantly strive to maintain balance in the roster and ensure that all players, not just skilled ones, are enjoying the game equally.

The patch notes confirm:

In contrast to past seasons, a few more Duelists are performing slightly better in Season 2.0, whereas some Vanguards and Strategists may find themselves at a slight disadvantage. However, most characters have maintained a balanced performance. In our next update, we will fine-tune the rating system calculations using recent data to promote fairness for all heroes.

It’s common knowledge among Overwatch players that maintaining balance in the game will always be necessary across updates. Even though Marvel Rivals has garnered plenty of positive reviews, it’s important to remember that balance adjustments and tweaks will continue to be made as well.

I truly hope Ultron’s appearance will inspire more individuals to embrace the Strategist role, as I could really use some backup in this fight!

Marvel Rivals is now playable for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5.
