Who says the devs at Marvel Rivals don’t have a sense of humor?
In a somewhat unexpected turn, Venom stands out among the male characters in the game with a hint of sexualization. To delight the fans, the developers are incorporating a dance move, specifically a twerk, into his repertoire of emotes.
Venom Twerking in Marvel Rivals
Hey there fellow gamers! I’ve noticed that in the latest update for Marvel Rivals, they’ve spruced up Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure a bit. One cool addition is this new emote where good ol’ Venom can chuck it right back at whoever’s tossing stuff his way. Can’t wait to give it a try!
And here’s the emote being used in-game:
In a surprising turn for the cautious Marvel brand, it seems even the most ardent fans might be taken aback by the inclusion of Venom doing a dance move reminiscent of twerking in the game. However, given its seemingly harmless nature, it’s unlikely to cause a stir within the gaming community.
Some individuals believe that this could potentially be NetEase’s playful April Fool’s Day prank, and many people seem to find it amusing online. Given the recent influx of sexualized Venom memes, twerking appears to be one of the more tame emotes they could create for those who are in on the joke.
If only they could pull off a similar stunt with Captain America, to fully capitalize on the “Ass-et to America” humor from Avengers: Endgame.
How to Unlock Venom’s Twerk Emote
Participants have the opportunity to acquire the emote through the Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event, which is set to start from the 1st to the 6th of April.
There’s a chance it might become available for purchase at the store in the future, but as of now, it appears that the only method to obtain it is by participating in the temporary event.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Incoming

Currently, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals is drawing to a close, as fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of the upcoming season and the exclusive merchandise accompanying it.
Speculation swirls that the second season will mark the emergence of mutants, as indicated by its title ‘Dawn of the Mutants’. It appears that game developer NetEase intends to introduce several mutant characters such as Emma Frost, Jean Grey, and Cyclops (along with others) in this upcoming season.
Data miners hint that a new map will appear, modeled after X-Mansion with the iconic Danger Room included. They don’t possess mutant abilities, but whispers of additional playable characters have surfaced. Among them are rumored to be the lethal robot Ultron and the Daywalker Blade.
The exact timeline for NetEase’s official announcement remains uncertain, but given that April is just around the corner, there’s a strong possibility they might unveil it then. Following a successful debut in December, Marvel Rivals seems to have an abundant supply of content lined up for its first year, hinting at a long-term live service that could last for years.
As a dedicated gamer who can’t get enough of the Marvel Universe, I’d love to see Marvel Games align their upcoming releases with the events unfolding in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday movie and TV series. It would make my gaming experience even more immersive and exciting!
