  • Allied Inspiration (E) – Mantis consumes a Life Orb to give allies a boost to damage.

  • Class – Strategist (Support)

As a Strategist or support character, Mantis plays a crucial role in keeping teammates engaged in the fight. Her toolkit is indispensable for prolonging battles. Instead, you’ll frequently find yourself prioritizing both inflicting damage and providing healing.

How to Play Mantis in Marvel Rivals

Have an opinion on this article? We’d love to hear it!

As a big fan of Mantis, I can tell you from my experience that she seems to have an unassuming one-star difficulty rating. At first glance, it’s natural to assume that she must be incredibly simple to play. And to some extent, that’s true. Mantis is indeed easy to grasp when it comes to her healing capabilities and understanding her abilities as a whole. However, don’t let her deceptively low rating fool you! While the basics of playing Mantis might be straightforward, there are hidden depths to her character that can make for some exciting and challenging gameplay. So, if you’re up for discovering these hidden gems, then by all means, give Mantis a try!

Yet, Mantis’ skills go beyond what’s apparent at first glance. She has the knack of enhancing her teammates’ offensive power and mobility, allowing them to stay in the fray for extended periods. Much like Lucio in Overwatch, her speed enhancement can be effectively used for aggressive tactics when employed tactically. In contrast, Luna Snow and Mantis share the ability to keep their allies supplied. However, Mantis’ Life Orbs enable this benefit to last longer.

Mantis provides an advantage for her team by enabling them to regenerate health gradually. Although this isn’t a significant boost in health, it still matters because it spares allies from having to retrieve health kits during combat.

Mantis, similar to many strategists, lacks the defensive skills to protect herself. In fact, she has no means of escaping when surrounded, making it crucial for players controlling her to be near sturdy heroes such as Groot or Magneto for protection.

Marvel Rivals Mantis Costumes and Skins

Currently in Marvel Rivals, Mantis wears two different costumes. After the game’s release, there may be more costumes added, but for now, the Guardians of the Galaxy leader sports these two looks.

  • Classic Mantis
  • Galactic Protocol: Mantis Habit

In Marvel Rivals, Mantis’ Galactic Protocol skin sets itself apart with its exclusivity. Despite being unique to this game, it remains one of the most striking skins, drawing attention with its intricate design. The insectoid qualities of Mantis are amplified through its green antennae and large, expressive eyes that resemble bugs.
