- New Sanctum Showdown mode brings a new way to compete with fresh snapping mechanics
- First to 16 points wins
- The new mode is available until March 11th
Is it possible for you to ascend to the position of Sorcerer Supreme? A special temporary mode called Sanctum Showdown has been activated in Marvel Snap and will last for the next fortnight. This event offers a novel approach to competition, introducing a unique victory requirement, an exclusive Sanctum location, and innovative mechanics for snapping.
In Marvel Snap’s Sanctum Showdown mode, players don’t play until turn six; instead, the first player to reach 16 points wins. The key location in this game is the Sanctum, which grants the highest number of points each turn. Additionally, snapping functions differently from other modes. Beginning on turn three, you can snap once per turn to boost the Sanctum’s value by one point, making the lead constantly change hands.
Participating in a game requires spending one Scroll, but triumphing grants you another, ensuring the gameplay continues. Initially, you possess 12 Scrolls and receive two additional ones every eight hours. In case you exhaust them, you can acquire more for 40 Gold. The result doesn’t matter; each contest contributes to your Sorcerer Rank and awards Charms, which are usable in the Sanctum Shop for aesthetic items or fresh cards.
Have you considered employing Captain Marvel or Dracula as part of your strategy to gain an advantage? However, I’m afraid that approach won’t be effective in this version of the game. Some cards and locations are prohibited to ensure fair competition. Also, abilities that affect final outcomes aren’t allowed here. Furthermore, certain cards like Debrii have been taken out to prevent strategies that favor one player over the other.

If you’re interested in obtaining cards such as Laufey, Gorgon, and Uncle Ben, your best bet is the Sanctum Showdown event, as these cards will become available in the Token Shop on March 13th. Through Portal Pulls, you have an opportunity to acquire them without any cost, plus up to four cards from Series 4 or 5.
