Six years following the monumental success of Avengers: Endgame, it’s now time for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to reunite once more.
Marvel Studios is unveiling their cast for the upcoming movie, “Avengers: Doomsday“, through a live broadcast on X. This announcement precedes the film’s production start in London, scheduled for next month.
Here are the actors announced so far for this production: Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
This lineup includes Chris Hemsworth playing Thor, Vanessa Kirby in the role of The Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Wyatt Russell portraying U.S. Agent, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
Lastly: The actors confirmed for the project are Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (The Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi).
Tenoch Huerta Mejía, who portrayed the Submariner in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” was an unexpected yet genuine highlight during the casting process. There were doubts about his return to Marvel following allegations of sexual misconduct in June 2023, accusations he refuted as “baseless and entirely unsubstantiated.” He withdrew from a Netflix production amid the public uproar, but later attended the premiere event for Marvel’s “Echo,” indicating a harmonious relationship between him and the studio.
Initially, Marvel unveiled “Avengers: Doomsday” at San Diego Comic-Con in July, met with much excitement. Remarkably, it was disclosed that Robert Downey Jr., previously believed to have hung up his Iron Man suit following “Endgame,” would be reprising his role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) again. This decision brought Downey, Marvel’s top money-making actor, back together with the Russo Brothers, who had also parted ways with the MCU after “Endgame” – Marvel’s most successful directors.
Initially, Marvel’s head Kevin Feige proposed the idea of Downey reprising his role as Doom to him. Later, it was Downey who convinced the Russo Brothers to rejoin the film industry after they had been involved in streaming movies for the past five years. They decided to return following a suggestion from their frequent screenwriter partner Stephen McFeely about how he envisioned the character.
The movie titled “Doomsday” is set to be released on May 1, 2026, and its sequel, “Avengers: Secret Wars“, has been scheduled for release on May 7, 2027.
Take a seat.
