In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s usual for characters to move between various series. For example, Benedict Wong’s character Wong has been seen in the Doctor Strange films, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and other productions. It seems that Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in 2025, will include appearances from some familiar faces. Interestingly, it looks like a certain mustached man will reappear on the show, and with Blue Bloods off the schedule, I’m really excited about this new addition!
It’s been announced that the character Jack Duquesne, played by Tony Dalton, will reappear in a new series titled Born Again. According to Variety, fans can catch Dalton’s performance as Duquesne on the holiday-themed series Hawkeye, which can be streamed with a Disney+ subscription. While plot details about how Duquesne fits into the Man Without Fear’s upcoming exploits remain undisclosed, the prospect of Dalton reprising his endearing character is exciting news for many fans.
In the comics, Jack is portrayed as the Swordsman, a swashbuckling figure who trained Clint Barton. But in the series ‘Hawkeye’, Duquesne became Eleanor Bishop’s new fiancé – Kate Bishop’s mother’s partner. Jack’s loyalty was questionable, given he stole Ronin’s retractable sword and was accused of murdering his uncle, Armand Duquesne III. However, he was later proven innocent and teamed up with Kate and Clint to battle the Tracksuit mafia.
I’m genuinely thrilled about the possibility of witnessing more Tony Dalton on my television. He exudes captivating charm, and he skillfully blended that appeal with a darker edge when portraying Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul. Notably, the actor’s facial hair is top-notch, as very few mustaches can compete. However, there is at least one seasoned TV actor whose whiskers give his a run for his money.
Discussing Tom Selleck, his iconic mustache was prominently featured throughout the 14-season run of Blue Bloods on CBS. Unfortunately, Blue Bloods was taken off the air in November 2023 and its final episodes aired in late 2024. Despite a spinoff featuring Donnie Wahlberg being planned, Selleck appears to not be participating at this point. With Tom Selleck currently absent from TV, it would be great to see another skilled actor sporting a stylish mustache take center stage on our screens.

The Showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again has made a rather daring statement regarding Charlie Cox’s series, and I sincerely hope that he is hinting at the return of Jon Bernthal.
Jack Duquesne isn’t the sole Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran appearing in “Born Again”. Alongside him, Mohan Kapur will also return to portray Yusuf Khan, a role he played in “Ms. Marvel” and “The Marvels”. It’s quite possible that this upcoming Marvel series has more surprises up its sleeve. However, the main focus appears to be on Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), who continues his dual life as both a lawyer and vigilante, battling crime in New York City while dealing with adversaries such as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and others.
I’m optimistic that the character Daredevil will find an authentic way to incorporate Duquesne without it feeling like a mere guest appearance. Plus, it’d be exciting to see him wield a sword once more and get involved in some thrilling action sequences again. Let me assure you, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that scene, and as a bonus, I can’t help but appreciate his mustache – I hope it stays intact throughout the series!
The initial two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again” will debut on Disney+ on March 4 (Tuesday). Until then, you can familiarize yourself with the character Tony Dalton plays, Jack Duquesne, by watching the series “Hawkeye” which is currently streaming.
