Mastercard introduces its Crypto Credential service to the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EEMEA) region, initially available in the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan.
Mastercard has launched its Crypto Credential service in the UAE and Kazakhstan, marking its initial entry into the EEMEA region. This new service simplifies crypto transactions by allowing users to send and receive tokens using easy-to-understand aliases rather than complex blockchain addresses, as stated in a press release on January 9th.
Streamlining blockchain transactions is expected to be facilitated by the expansion, benefiting platforms such as ATAIX Eurasia, Intebix, CoinMENA, and Fuze – a digital asset provider, according to the company’s statement.
As a crypto investor, I’ve been eagerly watching Mastercard’s progress, as their Executive Vice President for Core Payments in the region, Gaurang Shah, shared that they are diligently working towards creating innovative solutions and enhancing capabilities to make cryptocurrencies more accessible and secure for all of us.
In 2023, Mastercard introduced its Crypto Credential, designed to streamline and secure cryptocurrency transactions across multiple blockchain networks. The goal is to facilitate smoother crypto exchanges by providing a method for confirming users’ identities and ensuring that the correct digital assets are sent to the appropriate wallets.
On the other hand, the idea of blockchain aliases isn’t something fresh. For quite some time now, platforms such as Unstoppable Domains have provided blockchain-based aliases. With these aliases, users can replace cumbersome blockchain addresses with more user-friendly names.
