Masti 4: Ritiesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani begin shoot for new installment of much-loved comedy franchise; Vivek Oberoi expresses excitement

Having grown up watching this iconic franchise, it fills me with nostalgia to see Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh back on set for Masti 4. The chemistry between these two is unmatched, and I can’t wait to see them bring the madness once again!

Following three triumphant releases, the creators of the popular franchise “Masti” are returning with its fourth edition. Actors Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh have recently commenced filming for “Masti 4”. The exciting news was shared by Aftab himself, accompanied by photos from the set, which included iconic actor Jeetendra along with other team members.

On December 15th, Aftab Shivdasani announced on Instagram that the production for Masti 4 had begun. He shared a series of photos showing his enthusiasm, which started with him holding a clapperboard, followed by some joyful snaps alongside Riteish Deshmukh and director Milap Zaveri.

The post concluded with Aftab posing with Riteish, Milap, and legendary actor Jeetendra, among other team members. “The madness begins. The funniest of them so far. #masti4,” the post was captioned.

Immediately following the post’s dissemination, fans displayed excitement about the news, with some expressing delight and others voicing their longing for Vivek Oberoi’s presence in the photos. One fan inquired, “Where is Vivek sir?”, while another expressed anticipation, saying, “I can hardly wait to see you again.” A third fan showed eagerness, exclaiming, “I can’t wait for this! You were my childhood hero!

Furthermore, another user expressed, “Enjoy a fantastic time, dear Aftab sir,” while another commented, “I’m waiting.” Another online user also shared, “I can hardly wait for this…but where is Vivek Oberai?

Standout is Vivek Oberoi’s return to the social media scene, as he posted an amusing video on his Instagram over the weekend. In the clip, Riteish and Milap are seen having a jovial exchange in a makeup trailer.

Vivek posted, “The official storyline for #Masti4 is now a love story, marking the start of a heartwarming bromance! 20 years since the first one, I regret not being there for the premiere, but I’ll catch up with you guys @milapzaveri @riteishd @aftabshivdasani at the set soon! See you all there, #Masti.

Earlier this year in June, you were told by TopMob that production on Masti 4 would begin by the end of 2024. Considering the movie’s plotline, a source familiar with the project disclosed, “Masti is indeed a reboot, and the upcoming Masti film will follow a storyline more reminiscent of the original. Intriguingly, there’s an intriguing twist in the plot of Masti 4 that differentiates it from all its predecessors.

Conversely, Milap Zaveri, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan, recollected reaching out to Indra Kumar and Ritiesh following the release of Dream Girl 2. He emphasized that viewers were craving laughter and criticized them for not producing Masti 4 yet. In response, Kumar admitted he didn’t have a suitable storyline, while Zaveri accepted the blame and came up with an intriguing idea within a week to present to them.

A few days after their conversation, Kumar contacted him and Akshay Kumar with news from Ajay Devgn: Dhamaal 4 was offering him a role, but Masti 4 wouldn’t have him as director. Meanwhile, Ritiesh had set a condition – he would only join the project if Milap Zaveri directed it. And so, Milap became the director for the film.

In the upcoming film Masti 4, Milap Zaveri will take on the role as the director. The production responsibilities are shared by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria from Maruti International, along with A Jhunjhunwala and SK Ahluwalia of Waveband Productions.

In the year 2016, the movie known as Masti 3, also called Great Grand Masti, hit the screens, featuring Urvashi Rautela, Shraddha Das, among others, in prominent roles.
