Their creative marketing strategies, inspired by some of their most iconic roles like ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’, are not only entertaining but also cleverly effective.
Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves McConaughey are honoring his memorable character from the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” by featuring it in a fresh commercial for their organic tequila business, called Pantalones.
In this advertisement, an Academy Award-winning actor is depicted without pants. The image mirrors the poster from the 2003 romantic comedy, originally titled “10 Ways to Lose Your Pants.” Notably, Camila McConaughey resembles Kate Hudson’s outfit from that film, donning a vibrant yellow silk dress similar to the one she wore.
Pants unveiled ten unique cocktail recipes, themed around the film, such as “Love Fern Margarita”, “Benny Boo Boo”, “You’re So Vain” and “Yellow Dress”.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement over the new advertisement reminiscent of “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” This fresh piece is indeed part of the ongoing “official tequila of” series for Matthew McConaughey’s exceptional tequila brand.
In August, an advertisement themed around Labor Day was unveiled, showing the brand mowing the lawn without pants on. The ad creatively labeled the company as the “official tequila of lawn-mowing.” Previously, they have also launched campaigns featuring pantless pickleball, grilling, and poolside activities under the name Pantalones.
In the autumn of 2023, the duo debuted their brand featuring Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo tequilas. As stated in an announcement, this acclaimed collection is designed to honor enjoyment, kindness, and a lighthearted approach to life. The brand recently marked its one-year anniversary.
In its initial year of sale, the Añejo tequila brand has been recognized with the San Francisco World Spirits Competition’s most prestigious accolade, the double gold – an honor bestowed when all judges agree it is the finest in its category. Meanwhile, the Blanco tequila was awarded a gold medal, and the Reposado earned the bronze.
The brand had announced earlier this year that most of their projects in 2024 would not involve pants.
