Matthew Modine is the latest actor to join the Monsterverse.
The actor, who experienced a comeback primarily due to his role in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” has finalized an agreement to be part of the ensemble in Legendary’s upcoming film within the Godzilla-King Kong cinematic universe.

The actor, known for his work on “Stranger Things” and now making a comeback, has signed up for the cast of Legendary’s new Godzilla-King Kong movie franchise installment.
Grant Sputore (from “I Am Mother”) is helming a monster movie that once more presents colossal beasts alongside hapless humans trapped in their midst.
Details about the storyline from the script written by David Callaham are being closely guarded, but Legendary has revealed that the narrative will involve several fresh human characters interacting with the cherished and legendary Titans, Godzilla and Kong. Together, they must confront a destructive, apocalyptic menace that threatens to end the world.
In the call sheet, we find three actors who are joining the franchise for the first time: Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo. Dan Stevens is set to return as Trapper, the easy-going monster veterinarian and dentist that he portrayed in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Sources say that Modine will play a general.
Shooting is due to start April in Australia.
In the popular series “Stranger Things,” Modine portrayed the character of Dr. Brenner, who was initially introduced as a complex antagonist, often referred to as “Papa.” This role marked his appearance in this show after starring in movies like “Full Metal Jacket” and “Married to the Mob” during the 1980s.
Apart from that, he also made a significant appearance in the Academy Award-winning drama “Oppenheimer,” directed by Christopher Nolan, and in the drama titled “The Martini Shot.” Currently, you can catch him acting alongside Robert De Niro in the Netflix series “Zero Day.
Forthcoming ventures feature two exciting Amazon original series. One is titled “The Better Sister“, starring the talented Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel, while another is known as “The Protector“, featuring the captivating Milla Jovovich.
