Maura Tierney Boards ‘Law & Order’ for Season 24

As a long-time fan of “Law & Order,” I’m thrilled to welcome Maura Tierney to the cast for its 24th season! With her two Emmy nominations and extensive background in NBC shows like “NewsRadio” and “ER,” she brings a wealth of experience to the table. I was especially excited to learn that she has a history with “Law & Order,” having guest-starred on the show back in its second season.

Law & Order is putting a new cop on the case for its 24th season.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that starting this fall, Maura Tierney, who has been Emmy-nominated twice, will be joining the cast of my favorite NBC drama as an NYPD lieutenant. This announcement comes following Camryn Manheim’s departure from the show after an impressive three-season run portraying Lt. Kate Dixon.

Tierney is the latest addition to the established cast of the long-running crime procedural, with Tony Goldwyn having joined the show towards the end of the previous season following the exit of its longest-standing member, Sam Waterston.

Tierney, who has been Emmy-nominated twice, has acted in two NBC shows before: “NewsRadio” from 1995 to 1999 and “ER” from 1999 to 2009. She received her initial Emmy nod for portraying Abby Lockhart on “ER” in the year 2001. Additionally, she has a past association with “Law & Order,” having made an appearance in its second season episode back in 1991.

Tierney is now appearing alongside other actors in the movie “Twisters,” which generated significant revenue during its first weekend at the box office. In addition, she has recently been seen on Showtime in “The Affair” and “Your Honor,” as well as in “The Iron Claw.” Her career is represented by United Talent Agency and Untitled Entertainment.

Tierney is set to be part of the “Law & Order” ensemble, which already includes Mehcad Brooks, Reid Scott, Hugh Dancy, and Odelya Halevi. The upcoming 24th season of this series is slated to debut on October 3rd.
