As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience in the tech industry, I’ve witnessed the rise and fall of numerous players in the digital landscape. The announcement by Mawari Network about their limited node license sale is undeniably one of the most intriguing developments I’ve encountered recently.
Tokyo, Japan, October 31st, 2024, Chainwire
The Mawari Network, which specializes in spatial computing and owns a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN), has launched a limited offer for node licenses. This move will make the 3D streaming technology of Mawari more expandable and available to content creators and developers, who are eagerly awaiting the increasing market for extended reality devices such as Apple Vision Pro, Meta Orion, and Meta Quest 3. With these devices expected to reach over 100 million units in the next five years, Mawari is creating a globally decentralized spatial computing infrastructure to cater to this growing demand for immersive experiences.
Mawari’s infrastructure is tailored for intense immersive experiences, making it a significant player in the rapidly growing spatial computing market worth billions. As Samsung Next calls it a “sleeping lion,” Mawari is shaping and constructing the future of spatial computing. Their solution encompasses the Spatial Streaming SDK and the Mawari Network. The SDK, compatible with Unity and Unreal engines, enables developers to create smooth, immersive experiences effortlessly. Simultaneously, the Mawari Network, operating in tandem, utilizes a worldwide network of GPU nodes to maintain low latency and optimal performance. The primary goal of selling node licenses is to expand the network, enhance its global efficiency, and guarantee its robustness.
In simpler terms, Luis Oscar Ramirez, Mawari’s Founder & CEO, stated that this node sale enables node managers to contribute to the dissemination of 3D content worldwide, and they will be compensated for their contributions. Previously, existing cloud services didn’t provide a means for us to expand our unique spatial streaming technology. We explored methods to distribute immersive content and determined that DePIN was the most suitable solution. Now, we can invite our international network of node operators to collaborate with us in developing our essential node network, joining hands with our community of developers and creators.
Mawari has worked with industry leaders, such as Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Telefonica, Magic Leap, Netflix, Qualcomm, T-Mobile and dozens of other clients. The Solana Foundation recently selected Mawari for a grant, endorsing its roadmap for decentralized spatial computing. Backed by investors including Anfield LTD, Borderless Capital, 1k(x), and Samsung Next, and with veteran DePIN and web3 operator, Sean Carey, a co-founder of Helium, also joining its board, Mawari is the clear category leader.
Node Sale Details
In Q4 2024, we’re planning to launch a node sale, which will enhance the Mawari Network’s capabilities to handle complex computations and stream high-quality 3D content on a global level. The Mawari Network will make use of powerful GPUs distributed worldwide for advanced calculations and streaming purposes. However, we require a group of Guardian Nodes to authenticate their work and monitor the network’s overall performance as it caters to multiple concurrent immersive experiences simultaneously. These node licenses are up for sale, allowing you to operate these essential Guardian Nodes.
As a researcher, I focus on outlining the crucial roles of the Guardian Nodes in our system. They are responsible for meticulously evaluating key performance metrics such as latency, bandwidth, and content quality to uphold the superior standards required for delivering immersive, real-time experiences. Through continuous monitoring of the Mawari network, these community-managed Guardian Nodes enhance its performance and resilience, enabling it to grow securely and sustainably in the face of scale.
Details of the node license sale will be announced soon.
About Mawari
Mawari leads the way in decentralized technology for spatial computing and delivering immersive content. The Mawari Network enables real-time streaming of immersive content via a worldwide network of compute nodes. Mawari is enhancing Extended Reality (XR) to evoke awe, offering unforgettable experiences, and transforming how artists interact with audiences on a massive scale.
Mawari Network built the foundational technologies to power the next generation of interactive media, fully realizing the possibilities of virtual worlds existing seamlessly alongside our physical reality. Its core technology, the Mawari Engine and Spatial Streaming SDK, runs on the Mawari Network — the world’s first and only DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) that orchestrates storage, bandwidth, and rendering in real-time for spatial computing.
As a researcher, I’ve been instrumental in developing Mawari’s global network of compute nodes, a system designed to surpass the rendering constraints of conventional mobile devices and content delivery networks. This cutting-edge technology has already been utilized in various applications such as digital fashion shows and concert visualizations. The architecture of the Mawari Network is peer-to-peer by design, built with a focus on scalability for spatial media streaming needs, all while maintaining a community-centric approach.
