Casey Bloys, head of HBO, has confirmed that “The Thaw,” a popular series from Max Original‘s Polish catalog, will be back for its third season.
At the 2025 Max Global Content Presentation held in London, Blsys, who is both chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, announced that filming has begun in northern Poland. Notably, Katarzyna Wajda reprises her leading role.
As a devoted fan, I’m excitedly looking forward to diving into the first-person narrative of our favorite series returning for its six-episode third season! This time, we’ll be exploring the gritty underbelly of Szczecin as we delve into investigations targeting drug dealings among teenagers.
In The Thaw, Wajda is depicted as a grieving widow and detective who is investigating the homicide of a young lady and her newborn. Simultaneously, she is grappling with the loss of her spouse.
Additionally, Bogumił Lipski serves as the producer, Xawery Żuławski directs, Tomasz Naumiuk handles cinematography, Kevin Rundle contributes to screenwriting along with Bartosz Janiszewski and Marta Szymanek who provided the original concept. Andrzej Besztak is the executive producer for this series, which is produced by Magnolia Films.
