As a gamer who appreciates the vibrant and innovative spirit of fellow creatives, I was deeply saddened to hear about the untimely passing of Maxie Solters. Though our paths didn’t cross in the gaming world, her story resonated with me as she too was driven by passion and creativity – traits that are the lifeblood of any good game design or PR campaign.
Sadly, Maxie Solters, a third-generation PR specialist and Larry Solters’ daughter who ran Scoop Marketing, passed away suddenly on Thursday at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. At just 37 years old, her life was cut tragically short.
No cause of death was immediately available.
In 2012, Maxie honorably carried on her family’s tradition by stepping into the world of public relations, just like her dad and the renowned figure, her late grandfather, Lee Solters, who was highly respected in the field.
As a cherished and indispensable part of the Scoop crew, I’ve been described as someone who infused creativity, enthusiasm, and professionalism into everything I did, according to a company statement. My clientele ranged from the Kia Forum, the Hollywood Bowl, and Music Forward, to numerous other esteemed entities.

As a born individual on the 22nd of March, 1987, and a Sherman Oaks-raised soul, I followed my path from Oakwood School to USC, where I earned my theater bachelor’s degree. Post-graduation, my journey in the world of film and television casting commenced, all while I served as a coordinator at One Billion Rising – a powerful global movement striving to eradicate violence against women.
Beyond just acting, Solters demonstrated an exceptional creativity and ambition that propelled her to write, produce, and act in her self-made comedy web series. She was also a distinguished member who had the right to vote within SAG (Screen Actors Guild).
Solters passionately engaged with V-Day International and advocated for Women’s Rights, demonstrating her empathy and vision for a brighter tomorrow. The company remarked, “Her relentless optimism and generous spirit profoundly impacted numerous lives.”
Beyond her father and his companion, Carol Greenhut, the survivors are also her mother, Debra Graff; her aunt, Susan Reynolds; her cousin, Jonah Reynolds; her significant other over a long period, Dim Dobrin; and her cherished pet, Pookie.
A celebration of life is being planned. Donations in her name can be made to One Billion Rising.
