As we eagerly await Mike’s return and ponder over the events of Season 3’s finale, I find myself yearning for one particular plotline that heavily involves our main character.

Based on the pattern of previous releases and considering that Season 2 was launched at the beginning of 2023, it seems reasonable to anticipate the senior season to air around 2025. Although nothing is set in stone, the fact that Jeremy Renner returned to work following his snowplow accident in 2024 suggests that production might resume sooner rather than later. At the close of Season 3 for “Mayor of Kingstown,” there are quite a few unanswered queries lingering, but what’s primarily on my mind is the situation involving Mike’s sibling, Kyle, who was taken into custody.
In the climactic scene, a confrontation took place on the bridge, and the matter of excessive violence in Kingstown reached its peak. At that instant, Robert, one of Kyle’s colleagues, aimed his gun at an apparently innocent man with a child. Upon witnessing this act by his colleague, Taylor Handley’s character shouted for him to halt. However, when his plea fell on deaf ears, Kyle took matters into his own hands and shot his colleague, resulting in Robert’s death.
The last time we saw Kyle he was being taken away in a cop car, presumably going to prison.
As soon as I got wind of it, I instantly voiced my disapproval, asserting they couldn’t keep his brother. My fury was palpable, with Ian attempting to soothe me down. It’s clear Renner’s character was on the brink at this juncture, and I can only imagine that tension will persist into Season 4.
I’d like it if the situation continues to extend to him as well. I hope Mike will put his brother and family ahead, and I’m eager to witness how he helps Kyle get out of this predicament. It’s quite intriguing that the roles have reversed, considering Mike was once imprisoned himself, and now it’s his relatively law-abiding sibling who finds himself in trouble, a situation that could be seen as not being the most regrettable choice he’s made.
In this narrative, Kyle’s situation provides a crucial turning point. As he grapples with being a new parent, losing his mother, and his wife enduring a harrowing ordeal in Season 3, a deep-seated rage has been building within him, ready to erupt at any moment. And it has, creating an impactful fallout that I’m eagerly anticipating. Therefore, I truly hope that these developments will be central themes in Season 4 and the storyline for Renner.
