MCU Prank: How Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan Tricked Danny Ramirez Into Becoming The New Falcon

In today’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, things are taking a fresh turn as veteran characters assume new positions and fresh faces make their entrances. Before the much-awaited “Captain America: Brave New World,” Anthony Mackie transitioned into the role of Captain America, for instance. Similarly, Danny Ramirez’s character Joaquin Torres is now the Falcon, though there was a time when he wasn’t certain about it. Intriguingly, Ramirez has just shared how Mackie and Sebastian Stan cleverly set him up to discover that his character would officially wear the wings.

Prior to soaring into the skies in the upcoming Marvel movie, Danny Ramirez first appeared in the MCU as Joaquin during the 2021 miniseries “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Compared to his significant role in the new film, Ramirez’s participation on the show was somewhat restrained. Consequently, the actor from “Valley Girl” admitted feeling a bit uncertain about sharing screen time with Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and others.

However, as Ramirez explained, that eventually changed, and it started with a message from Stan:

In Prague, before the COVID-19 pandemic, Sebastian Stan arranged a night out for us, which he invited me to join. Excited, I went downstairs as instructed and found Anthony and some of his friends at the bar. However, Sebastian ended up not showing up, which was peculiar. At that point in time, my character hadn’t received the wings yet, so I was wary about trusting anyone, fearing they might cut me from the show at any moment.

Danny Ramirez’s comments to Fandango suggest a surprising turn of events, which perhaps could have been anticipated by the actors portraying Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Ramirez further clarified that this twist was just the beginning. He described the subsequent event as absolutely wild, and in a YouTube video, he also recollected another encounter with the actor from “A Different Man”. The former “On My Block” star also reminisced about their next meeting.

After that, Sebastian decides to stay and continues working on his script, while we head out to enjoy the town. It’s around five in the morning, and what an exhilarating night it turned out to be! I felt like part of the group back then. The next day, Sebastian asked me about the previous night, and I replied, “You devilish scamp! You tricked me into having a wild time!

More on Captain America: Brave New World

In a surprising twist, the reported runtime for Captain America: Brave New World has been revealed, and I must admit, it leaves me content.

As an admirer, I can’t help but acknowledge Danny Ramirez’s impressive acting talent. Breaking through the “glass ceiling” with his role in Top Gun: Maverick and securing parts in No Exit, Look Both Ways, Stars at Noon, and more, he has certainly made a name for himself. Now, as Joaquin Torres, Ramirez is part of a new generation of diverse heroes gracing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In Brave New World, Torres teams up with Sam Wilson to unravel a conspiracy that could have profound consequences. Working behind the scenes, Ramirez demonstrated his dedication by filming under scorching 90-degree heat in Atlanta while still in costume.

It’s looking promising that Captain America 4 will have a strong debut at the box office, which is great news for all the fans eagerly waiting to see Joaquin Torres in action alongside Sam Wilson. At the moment, I can’t get enough of Danny Ramirez’s character arc, and I can’t wait to hear more about his journey from him during the Brave New World press tour. Perhaps he’ll share some behind-the-scenes tales about the BTS camaraderie that developed while filming the movie.

The highly anticipated film titled “Captain America: Brave New World” is set to hit theaters on Valentine’s Day, 2025.
