- Medabot Survivors offers fans of the robot role-playing series new bullet heaven action
- But it’s currenly only in Japan on iOS and Android
- Medabots will be familiar to those of us who grew up in the aftermath of Pokemon’s huge success
If you’ve been checking out some of the latest global releases, here’s another one that might make you feel regretful for not being accessible. The game “Medabot Survivors” is scheduled to release on February 10th, reviving the popular role-playing series on mobile devices once more. Unfortunately, as you may have guessed, it will only be available in Japan at this time.
It’s been reported by Gematsu that Medabots might be a somewhat recognizable title for some; following the popularity of Pokemon, there was a significant effort to bring Japanese merchandisable content to the West. While Digimon is probably familiar to many, Medabots is one of those series that didn’t quite gain traction.
In its home country of Japan, however, Medabots has become a significant force within the entertainment industry. It may not have conquered the world, but it certainly enjoys more popularity than it did here. Given this, it’s no wonder that the creators are venturing into the Survivor-style genre. Unfortunately, for now, those of you who are Medabots fans will have to content yourselves with enjoying it only in Japan as it remains exclusive to that region.
Surviving survivors
Although the “Survivors” genre predates the popular game Vampire Survivors by a considerable amount, the arrival of Medabot Survivors is not only exciting news for fans, but it also offers an intriguing perspective on how this genre has been rapidly expanding and gaining global popularity.
After gaining a general understanding of the system over in Japan, I can confidently say there are many excellent releases that sadly remain unknown to us. Fingers crossed that if Medabot Survivors becomes popular, we might eventually have access to it.
Meanwhile, should you fancy a peek at our forthcoming releases, feel free to explore the world of Cat Restaurant now, as Catherine Dellosa guides you through it in our newest addition to Ahead of the Game.
