Known for his outstanding performances in popular films like 3 Idiots, Life in a Metro, and Dhol, this actor has encountered challenges in securing roles lately. Despite starring in more than 47 films, he hasn’t achieved significant success in the last ten years. The individual you are thinking of is none other than Sharman Joshi.
Hearing about Sharman’s predicament, I felt compelled to help, and so I offered him a chance to collaborate on my upcoming project, Sikandar. This role could potentially be a pivotal moment in his career, as he will soon have the privilege of acting alongside me, Salman Khan.
Actor Sharman Joshi, renowned for his exceptional comedic delivery and acting skills, has demonstrated his abilities across various movies. Nevertheless, the past ten years have posed challenges, as he’s yet to achieve a standalone box office success during this timeframe.
Sharman, who hails from Mumbai, born on April 28, 1974, embarked on his Bollywood career with the movie “Godmother” in 1999. Regrettably, this film didn’t perform well at the box office. Yet, Sharman persisted undeterred and carried on with his acting aspirations.
In 2006, Sharman’s groundbreaking moment arrived with the critically lauded film Rang De Basanti. His act in this movie garnered extensive praise and set the stage for significant roles in films such as Golmaal, Life in a Metro, and Raqeeb. The subsequent year, in 2007, Sharman experienced success once more with the hit comedy Dhol, solidifying his standing as a skilled comedian within the film industry.
2009 saw an outstanding portrayal by Sharman Joshi in the movie “3 Idiots”, which went on to captivate audiences worldwide and set a new record as the first Indian film to earn more than 200 crores at the box office.
After the hit movie 3 Idiots in 2009, Sharman Joshi went on to feature in numerous films including Allah Ke Banday, Gang of Ghosts, Super Nani, Mera Fauji Calling, Kaashi: In Search of Ganga, Babloo Bachelor, Music School, and many more.
Despite receiving ongoing praise for his acting, these films unfortunately didn’t generate much success at the cinema and ended up as significant letdowns.
During these tough times, Sharman Joshi shared his struggles with Salman Khan. Known for being supportive towards friends, Salman offered Sharman a part in his upcoming movie, Sikandar. With this significant role, Sharman is hopeful that it will help him break his string of unsuccessful films and make a strong return to the industry.
