Over the past few years, we’ve been introduced to numerous promising newcomers in the Hindi film world. Today, let’s discuss one such actress who tipped the scales at 96 kg at one point and fought against PCOS. Post her initial appearance on the silver screen, she collaborated with some of the industry’s heavyweights like Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, and others.
If you’re struggling to identify the actor we’re referring to, let me clarify: We’re talking about Sara Ali Khan, a talented actress who happens to be the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. She launched her acting career in 2018 with Abhishek Kapoor’s romantic movie Kedarnath, where she received positive feedback from the audience. Later that year, she also appeared in Simmba alongside Ranveer Singh, another successful film.
From that point onwards, she has been featured in a range of films such as Love Aaj Kal, Murder Mubarak, Atrangi Re, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and more. Most recently, she was part of the cast for Sky Force, starring alongside Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya.
Despite being part of a family with a film background, Sara encountered her own set of challenges on her path to success. Prior to entering the industry, she fought against obesity.
In a previous conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Sara opened up about her weight loss journey. She expressed that while we may discuss topics like acceptance and equality, it’s unlikely for us to see a main character in a film weighing 96 kilos. Additionally, she mentioned that her weight issues were also linked to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which she was dealing with.
As she explained, being an actor requires a great deal of emotional intensity, dedication, devotion, and concentration. She pointed out that managing her hormones and maintaining a healthy weight were crucial aspects of her role, not only for her well-being, self-esteem, and confidence, but also as a matter of professional pride.
In her professional life, Sara Ali Khan will appear next in the film “Metro…In Dino,” where she joins forces with Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sensharma, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. This multi-story movie, directed by Anurag Basu, was initially scheduled for release on November 29, 2024; however, there has been no recent news regarding its status.
Additionally, she’s working on a movie yet-to-be-titled that pairs her with Ayushmann Khurrana. This project is being led by director Aakash Kaushik, and both Karan Johar and Guneet Monga are producing it.
