As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of Indian cinema, I must say that Raza Murad is a veritable treasure trove of cinematic history. His journey from the hallowed grounds of FTII to the silver screen spans over five decades, a feat few can boast of in Bollywood.
The Indian entertainment industry, dating back for many years, has been home to numerous actors and artists for significant portions of their lives. One such veteran figure is Raza Murad, who kick-started his career in the 1972 film “Ek Nazar.” Since the 1980s, he’s predominantly taken on supporting roles and even earned popularity as a villain during the ’90s.
Raza Murad is a well-known actor from Bollywood, who has graced many successful films and portrayed important roles in them. Over approximately four decades, he has appeared in around 250 Bollywood productions, as well as movies in various languages. It’s said that he shares familial ties with actress Zeenat Aman, and his extensive work history clearly solidifies his connection to the Indian film industry.
The actor honed his acting and filmmaking skills after earning a degree in film acting from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, which he completed in 1971. Following this, he made his debut in the acting world in 1972, and has since then been given numerous roles that have significantly contributed to films. One of his notable performances as a character actor was in the 1973 film Namak Haraam, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna.
Through a post on Instagram, the actor from Jodhaa Akbar acknowledged that Raj Kapoor rekindled his acting abilities as a villain in the 1982 film Prem Rog, where he portrayed the ruthless Thakur Veerendra Pratap Singh. Following this, he appeared in movies such as Henna, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Khud-daar, Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Pyar Ka Mandir, Aankhen, Mohra, and Gupt.
In addition to appearing alongside notable actors such as Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Dharmendra, and others, he frequently collaborates with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. This is due to the fact that he was part of films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat, which hold a significant sentimental and professional value for this famous duo. On November 23rd, Raza Murad is also celebrating his 74th birthday.
TopMob wishes the ace senior actor a very Happy Birthday!
