As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the captivating limited series “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack,” which graced our Netflix screens in August 2024. This gripping production has been making waves, particularly for its exceptional acting performances. The spotlight has been shining brightly on the talented cast since its debut, and one name that stands out is Amrita Puri. Interestingly, her businessman father once required her to hone her skills as a copywriter before she found success in the world of acting.
As a devoted daughter, I’m Amrita Puri, and my father, previously serving as managing director at a private sector bank (Aditya Puri), nudged me towards a brief stint as a copywriter post-graduation for a year. Yet, from the very start, my heart was set on acting, a passion that continues to drive me today.
In the year 2010, Amrita made her film debut in ‘Aisha’, where she appeared alongside Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Ira Dubey, among others. Her role was that of Shefali, a friend character to Sonam’s Aisha, and her performance earned accolades.
After that, Amrita took part in films such as Blood Money with Kunal Kemmu and Kai Po Che with Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh, and Rajkummar Rao. Additionally, she has been involved in television productions like Stories Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore and P.O.W. – The War Inside.
Amrita Puri has stepped into the Over-The-Top (OTT) platform with the comedy-drama “Four More Shots Please,” playing the character Kavya. Previously, she has graced our screens in the hit series “Made In Heaven” and other notable productions.
2023 saw Amrita making her latest film appearance in the mystery thriller Neeyat, starring Vidya Balan. The following year, she was part of the Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which was released in 2024. In this show, directed by Anubhav Sinha, Amrita portrayed Nandini, a reporter. Alongside her were actors like Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, Pankaj Kapur, Pooja Gor, and others.
