Michael Moore hasn’t directed a film since 2018’s “Fahrenheit 11/9.”
This left-leaning documentary maker frequently shares his views on MSNBC, writes about global events through Substack, and occasionally creates documentaries.
Moore has agreed to serve as an executive producer for “From Ground Zero: Tales from Gaza,” a documentary that presents the Palestinian perspective in the ongoing Middle Eastern dispute.
Moore believes that his reputation and decreasing popularity could contribute positively to the promotion of the movie. At present, the movie boasts a 95% “fresh” rating on RottenTomatoes.com.
In the latest announcement about the movie currently having a restricted release, actor Moore is heard referring to Israel’s response in Gaza as an “act of genocide.” This perspective, which sees Israel’s actions as genocide, is a common viewpoint within today’s progressive community, with comedienne Michelle Wolf and others expressing similar sentiments.
These Palestinian filmmakers have achieved a cinematic marvel, creating an exceptional movie amidst circumstances that Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch now label as genocide. In the face of adversity, Rashid and these 22 brave directors in Gaza utilize their cameras and creativity as their only weapons. It is regrettable that such filmmakers, writers, or artists must portray their own annihilation. I am proud to join them in solidarity and assist in spreading their powerful narratives globally.
Actor/comedian Michael Rapaport would like a word with Moore.
The former ‘Atypical’ cast member is among Israel’s most ardent advocates in Hollywood. Over the past year and a half, he has been vocal about the ongoing captivity of hostages by Hamas, calling out the entertainment industry for overlooking this issue at numerous award ceremonies. Last year, he even released a biting satire on the Oscars addressing this very topic.
Rapaport couldn’t let Moore’s film go unchallenged.

The video under discussion presents a sequence of scenes depicting instances where Hamas extremists brutally mistreated or murdered innocent Israeli civilians on October 7th. Movies such as “Screams Before Silence,” which have often been overlooked by film critics, delve into similar disturbing themes.
The majority of Hollywood’s MeToo movement seemed to turn a blind eye towards the systematic rape and torture allegedly committed by Hamas against Israeli women. It appears that director Moore has no intention of creating a movie based on these horrific events.
Rapaport wants him to learn about it all the same.
Here is the official description for “From Ground Zero.”
The documentary “From Ground Zero,” crafted by filmmaker Rashid Masharawi, aims to amplify the voices of the people in Gaza and chronicle their everyday lives, stories that frequently escape global attention.
