As NCIS expands, the Tony and Ziva spinoff marks the latest addition to the established series lineup. Filming for this new installment has been ongoing in Budapest since last summer, and I’m thrilled about the prospect of seeing fan-adored characters portrayed by Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo grace our television screens once more. Weatherly recently confirmed that production is still underway in the European city, though it appears the crew recently took a break for some fun last night.
Michael Weatherly posted a picture on Instagram, appearing to be from a tavern in Budapest, showing individuals dressed in American football attire. He captioned it as “Budapest has caught Super Bowl fever.” This suggests that even across the Atlantic, viewers were eagerly watching the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Despite not explicitly declaring his allegiance, Weatherly appears to have enjoyed himself immensely during the filming of the show. So far, he’s been posting numerous pictures from his time in Budapest and Europe over the last few months. The photos highlight stunning landscapes, exquisite cuisines, and even camels. It remains unclear how long the NCIS spinoff will continue to film, but I certainly hope that we get to see more such captivating glimpses into his journey.
Approximately a year ago, it was revealed that Tony and Ziva will be starring in a new series. Although the title might require some adjustments, the idea of this show has proven to be quite enticing. The plot revolves around Tony and Ziva as they elude authorities while traveling across Europe with their pre-teen daughter. This chain of events is initiated by an attack on Tony’s security firm. Given such an intriguing premise, I find it challenging to imagine the ardent fans not being at least interested in this promising project.
The series can only be watched by those who have a Paramount+ subscription, but there’s a chance it might also air on CBS in the future if they require additional content from Paramount+ shows to fill their programming lineup.
At the start of the year, Michael Weatherly unveiled an impressive memento from filming – a pair of Adidas sneakers branded with the NCIS: Tony & Ziva logo (they were fantastic). This unique gift was a joint effort between Superstar Budapest and FinestArtShoes. Together with the behind-the-scenes photos that have been released, it makes the idea of seeing Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David again seem more tangible.
As a fan, I’m eager for the filming of NCIS: Tony & Ziva to go well and for Michael Weatherly and the team to provide an exciting season. Additionally, let’s hope that the Paramount+ show manages to be much more captivating than the game between the Chiefs and Eagles during this year’s Super Bowl.
