Michelle Randolph Joins ‘Scream 7’ Cast: Big News!

In the upcoming movie “Scream 7,” scheduled for release in February 2026, Ghostface will have the opportunity to interrogate various characters about their preferred horror films. Notably, among the survivors from Wes Craven’s original 1996 film are Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers who are still alive. The masked killer of Woodsboro will encounter numerous fresh faces as well, including the latest cast member, Landman, and a beloved star from the 2019 miniseries “1923.

It’s not yet known who Randolph will play in the upcoming Scream movie, but she’ll be working alongside some of the franchise’s top-tier horror stars, including Campbell and Cox. Furthermore, a number of actors from previous installments are reprising their roles for another confrontation with Ghostface, despite their characters apparently being deceased – we’ll delve into that detail later on.

At present, Randolph is depicting Elizabeth Strafford, the wife of Jack Dutton (played by Darren Mann), in the hit prequel series to Yellowstone, titled 1923. This show features Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Interestingly, Randolph plays two roles in this scenario, as she also takes on the character of Ainsley Norris in another series created by Taylor Sheridan, called Landman. In this production, she portrays the teenage daughter of Tommy Norris, a character played by Billy Bob Thornton.

Stacking the Cast in ‘Scream 7’s Favor

Word on the street in March 2024 was that Neve Campbell would once again take up the character of Sidney Prescott for Scream 7, having previously opted out due to a pay disagreement during the 2023 sequel. Fans were intrigued to find out whether the last remaining survivor from the original Scream (1996) would join this highly anticipated movie as well, keeping their fingers crossed for good news.

In December 2024, it was officially confirmed that Courteney Cox would resume her character Gale Weathers for the upcoming film Scream 7. Shortly after, Matthew Lillard, known for his role as Stu Macher in the original Scream, announced his return on social media by crossing out his iconic “my mom and dad” quote. Stu, along with Billy Loomis (portrayed by Skeet Ulrich), were the two notorious killers donning the Ghostface costume in Wes Craven’s legendary classic.

Ulrich made a comeback as his murderous character in “Scream” (2022) and “Scream VI”, despite Billy Loomis being killed over 30 years back. Yet, this doesn’t clarify how not only Stu will resurface, but also Scott Foley, who played Roman Bridger in “Scream 3” – a character from the third film who is now deceased as Ghostface.

Latest updates on cast announcements were made on March 4th, revealing that David Arquette, a beloved figure among fans, will appear in Scream 7. However, it’s puzzling because his character Deputy Dewey was mysteriously killed off in the 2022 reboot sequel. Furthermore, despite the departures of Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown will be returning to their roles for both Scream and Scream VI.

Excitedly speaking as a film enthusiast, I must say that it’s truly a thrill to see the original legends returning in the upcoming Scream. But what makes this even more exhilarating is the addition of an impressive lineup of new faces joining the cast. The likes of Jimmy Tatro, Mckenna Grace, Ethan Embry, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, and even Mark Consuelos from Live with Kelly and Mark have all been confirmed for the sequel. Fasten your seatbelts, fellow horror fans, because Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026!
