As an ardent fan of Mika Singh, I must say his unapologetic charm and audacious spirit have always been captivating. His recent interview with The Lallantop only served to further solidify my admiration for him. Despite performing at the grand wedding of Anant Ambani, a momentous occasion in our nation’s history, Mika’s candid expression of disappointment over not receiving a watch like his fellow performers is a testament to his genuine character.
Mika Singh is recognized for delivering daring declarations and lively concert appearances. This singer, who was part of the performers at the extravagant wedding of business magnate Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani, with Radhika Merchant, has recently voiced his dissatisfaction towards the groom. In a recent interview, he shared that those close to the family were given costly watches, but he himself didn’t receive one. As a result, he politely asked Anant Ambani to send him one if he happened to watch the video interview.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Mika Singh expressed his disappointment towards Anant Ambani. Despite enjoying his performance at Anant’s extravagant wedding in July 2024, there was an incident that left him unhappy. He disclosed that unlike other performers, he did not receive the exclusive gift of expensive watches that were given to others.
As a privileged participant, I attended Ambani’s grand nuptials. It was there that a generous distribution of wealth took place, including myself among the recipients. However, my joy was somewhat tainted by one matter: unlike his closest companions, I was not gifted the watch.
Additionally, the performer jokingly referred to Anant as his sibling and teasingly asked for a timepiece, saying, “I too am your little brother. Could you possibly send me a watch if you catch this message?
Although Mike didn’t receive a watch, he openly acknowledged that he was handsomely compensated for his lively presentation at the wedding. He didn’t disclose the exact sum but suggested it was a substantial figure that would comfortably sustain him for the next five years.
Simultaneously, the singer of Aaj Ki Party mused over the evolving music industry and shifting attitudes towards artists who entertain at weddings. He reminisced about his earlier days singing with his brother at weddings, when people would pity them. Yet today, it’s common practice and performers earn a respectable income from these performances.
For those not already familiar, Mika Singh first showcased his singing talent in 1998 with the launch of his album “Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag,” which resonated strongly with listeners. Among his many well-known tunes are “Mauja Hi Mauja” and “Jab We Met,” as well as “Bas Ek King” and “Dhanno” to name a few.
