As a seasoned gamer with a knack for sports and a keen eye for broadcasting talent, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the news that Mike Greenberg is taking over as host of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown. With his extensive experience hosting SportsCenter, NBA Countdown, and the legendary Mike & Mike radio show, he’s no stranger to the world of sports analysis.
Mike Greenberg has been named host of ESPN‘s Sunday NFL Countdown.
Currently, Greenberg is in charge of ESPN’s morning program, “Get Up,” as well as the “Greeny” radio broadcast. Earlier, he presented “NBA Countdown,” “SportsCenter,” and the “Mike & Mike” radio show alongside Mike Golic.
I’m stepping into the hosting spot previously occupied by Sam Ponder, who it seems has moved on from the team last week, along with football analyst Robert Griffin III. It appears that this change is due to some cost-saving measures they’ve chosen to implement.
Greenberg will be alongside analysts Tedy Bruschi (Super Bowl Champion), Rex Ryan, football legend Randy Moss, and three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Alex Smith on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.
ESPN’s prominent NFL analyst, Adam Schefter, along with Jeff Darlington, Dan Graziano, Kimberley A. Martin, Sal Paolantonio, Lindsey Thiry, and sports betting expert Erin Dolan will resume their roles.
Greenberg is set to become the fourth individual to take on the role as the show’s host. Since 2021, he has been in charge of the network’s Thursday and Friday evening broadcasts, as well as the NFL Draft for ESPN.
Every Sunday, NFL Countdown will still broadcast from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Eastern Time, right here at ESPN’s studio in Bristol, Connecticut. This upcoming season marks the 40th year that this popular program has been on air.
