Mike Wolfe Says Goodbye To The Year Amidst American Pickers Ending Questions And Frank Fritz’s Passing: ‘Loss And Some Heartache But…’

2024 was an exceptional year for various sectors, including entertainment, and many celebrities have looked back on the past while maintaining optimism about the future. One such renowned personality is Mike Wolfe, best known for American Pickers, who reminisced about the show’s inception with his co-star Danielle Colby at the beginning of the year. As 2025 approaches, however, Wolfe expressed a more intimate and emotional message to his followers and fans.

As many American Pickers fanatics are well aware, former co-host Frank Fritz died on September 30, 2024, three years after he left the show, but after he and Wolfe allegedly mended the fences from their reported feud that was partially sparked by Wolfe going public with news about Fritz’s stroke in 2022. And while that wasn’t the main point of the creator’s heartfelt post on Instagram, it was no doubt in the mix. Here’s what he had to say alongside a photo of himself sitting back on a busted couch with a huge smile on his face:

I selected this photo for sharing because it reflects my current state in life, filled with joy, satisfaction, and anticipation for what’s ahead. This past year has been a mix of sorrow due to loss and pain, but it also holds precious memories with my daughter and family. The endeavors I’ve taken on have fueled my desire to achieve even more. Reaching 60 this year has given me clarity and led me to a serene mental space where I feel tranquil. It’s comforting that my circle is shrinking, allowing me to focus more on the loved ones I cherish.

It’s quite moving to observe how Mike Wolfe, following the hardships he faced in 2024 and reaching the milestone of turning 60, has used these experiences as motivation to strengthen his bonds with his loved ones even more. As the saying goes, “You don’t truly appreciate something until you lose it,” and this sentiment is rarely more relevant than when discussing people.

It seems clear that Mike Wolfe hasn’t just been affected by significant emotional events over the past year, despite Fritz’s passing being a major factor. In fact, ‘American Pickers’, now in its 26th season on History, is still airing new episodes every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET, something that Wolfe might have found hard to believe when the show first started in 2010. This longevity has given him the opportunity to focus on other projects close to his heart, a trend that we hope continues in the future.

He expanded on his Instagram post, musing about the journey of “Pickers” and the reasons it encourages him to explore different parts of the nation and secure major show purchases. He expressed this in his subsequent message.

As someone who has spent over a decade sharing stories that highlight America’s rich history, diverse people, and unique places, I can attest to the profound impact of your support. The journey has been nothing short of incredible, as I’ve found myself falling in love with this great nation time and time again during my travels. Every person I meet, every place I visit, reinforces the notion that there is no such thing as a nobody or a place that doesn’t matter.

In these challenging times, it has never been more crucial for us to seek common ground and understand one another better. By doing so, we can build bridges, foster unity, and create a more inclusive and compassionate society. As we move forward together towards 2025, I wholeheartedly believe that we have the strength, resilience, and determination to overcome any obstacle that comes our way. Let’s unite, embrace our differences, and make a positive impact on the world around us. 🙏

May 2025 continue to bring Mike Wolfe & Co. as much success and prosperity as they experienced in 2024, while avoiding any unfortunate losses of team members we’ve come to know and appreciate. It would also be wise to steer clear of unnecessary rumors or hoaxes about the well-being of colleagues, such as the one Danielle Colby encountered last year.

I hope that 2025 brings Mike Wolfe & Co. just as much joy and accomplishment as they had in 2024, but without any sudden departures among their team members. Let’s also try to avoid the spread of false information about our colleagues’ health, like what happened with Danielle Colby last year.
