Miley Cyrus Gives Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter Their “Flowers”: I “Support Those Girls All the Way”

Miley Cyrus is giving Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter their “Flowers.”

In a chat with Zane Lowe on his show, the three-time Grammy winner expressed her appreciation for pop sensations Roan and Carpenter. She confessed to being avid fans of these two artists, particularly praising their impressive Grammy debut performances earlier this year.

She mentioned that Sabrina and Chappell were at the Grammys this year, delivering an extravagant performance, she said. ‘I’m simply huge fans,’ she added, ‘and I wholeheartedly back them up.’

Cyrus went on to cheer for their Grammy performances, acknowledging that “live performances carry a tremendous amount of stress” and empathizing with the bravery required because she’s personally felt “the fear that arises and the anxiety that sets in” before stepping onto the stage.

Cyrus remarked, “It seems they were likely under immense stress, but they managed flawlessly. I was particularly impressed by Sabrina at SNL’s 50th anniversary show; she left me astounded.

After Roan experienced a rapid surge in popularity the previous year, Cyrus expressed solidarity towards the “Good Luck, Babe!” artist when she requested that fans be kinder to her.

Cyrus expressed that he hopes others would be less harsh towards her. Entering the industry today, with smartphones and Instagram, must be challenging, as it wasn’t a significant aspect of his life in the past and still isn’t now; he doesn’t even know his own Instagram password.

In another part of the interview, the artist known as “Flowers” shared that receiving the Grammy for the song felt somewhat like mending a wounded heart during the 2024 Grammy Awards.

She admitted that deep down, there was a desire within her to grasp a trophy and briefly experience the feeling of accomplishment by physically holding something significant. She wasn’t sure what triggered this need, but she yearned for an object that would make her feel like she had truly triumphed. At the Grammys, this is why she went; it was primarily for healing.

In a similar vein, she also expressed that sobriety has completely transformed her life, stating furthermore, “I require it; I live for it.” Cyrus and Zowe looked back on their 2020 conversation, where she confessed to having strayed from her sobriety following an earlier decision to stop drinking that year.

She explained during our Wednesday conversation that she felt compelled to stumble one more time, it was inevitable. It simply wouldn’t have unfolded this way otherwise, and here I am. There have been periods since we last spoke where the pain has been real, moments I’m not particularly proud of. Far from my finest hours, certainly not among my best accomplishments. However, those experiences ultimately led me to writing ‘Flowers,’ which served as a sort of master key to all healing. It brought me tremendous solace.

In April, Cyrus released “End of the World,” the initial track from her upcoming ninth album, titled “Something Beautiful“. This album is set to be launched on May 30.
