As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for adventure and a knack for collecting rare creatures, I can hardly contain my excitement as Dreamcube unveils the inaugural season of Miraibo GO – “Abyssal Souls”. Having had a sneak-peek at this thrilling new content, I can confidently say that it’s not just about catching ’em all anymore; it’s about outsmarting them, strategizing, and surviving against the forces of darkness.
Shortly following the worldwide debut of Miraibo GO on iOS, Android, and Windows PC, Dreamcube has unveiled the first installment of exhilarating fresh content for its massive, open-world, creature-gathering game. Named “Abyssal Souls”, this initial season is now accessible to players, offering a unique world and special in-game occurrences that they can experience.
After getting an early look at the upcoming season, here’s a brief, spoiler-free summary of what you can anticipate.
New Seasons, fresh changes
First off, the introduction of “Abyssal Souls” season ushers in a new core gameplay feature called “seasons.” During a season, players can access exclusive “season worlds” through a temporal rift in the lobby. These parallel worlds exist separately from the main playable world, with their own separate rules and progression systems, and players are unable to transfer their characters or equipment between them. So all players begin a new season “fresh” so to speak.
In the fresh season, competitors will face novel Miras and must accomplish short-term goals within a specific timeframe to secure uncommon prizes such as mastery books and exotic fruits. Upon the end of the season, participants will be granted extra bonuses relative to their success and standings.
So what is Abyssal Souls about?
In a suitably eerie theme that befits the Halloween season, Abyssal Souls’ storyline revolves around an ancient evil descending upon the world, with the legendary ancient Mira, the “Annihilator” leading its dark minions in an impending invasion. Players must prepare to confront this looming battle against the forces of darkness, with the assistance of some new Miras of their own (more on that later).
In the updated design, progression of characters doesn’t involve earning attribute points from seasonal game levels anymore. Instead, these levels grant a small increase in health. To enhance attributes, there will be a fresh “Soul” system where players can assign points for substantial stat boosts.
In the event of defeat, there are a few modifications to consider: Firstly, trading or losing Miras after defeat is not allowed as they become attached to your character upon acquisition. Secondly, all equipment remains with you. Lastly, any unspent Soul Points will be forfeited.
Generally speaking, this season offers a more complex and demanding Miraibo GO gameplay, due to the introduction of the Soul system that poses a tough test for your strategic abilities. However, it’s not entirely grim; there are some appealing Halloween costumes and unique accessories available that add a festive touch to your gaming experience during this season.
New PvP action
If you’re craving some player-vs-player action then Abyssal Souls presents a new, mysterious island summoned by the “Annihilator”. Here you’ll get to test your mettle against other players whilst uncovering its hidden treasures using a new teleport point, but beware—ruthless poachers lurk on the hunt.
As dusk descends upon the isle, its edges spark to life with mysterious forces, offering you new challenges such as riddles, conflicts, and quests for hidden riches. Obtaining Ghostly Fragments upon overcoming these tasks rewards you, which can then be traded for exclusive prizes.
Brace yourself for the brutal clashes ahead, as Player vs Player battles can result in players losing their seasonal essences to the winners.
New Miras of the “Abyssal Souls” Season
Every new season comes with brand new Miras and the Abyssal Souls season introduces four of them:
- Scaraber: A Mira renowned for its elegant manners and dignified demeanor. Its calm, insightful personality allows it to coexist harmoniously with other Miras, and it is skilled at fairly resolving any disputes that arise.
- Voidhowl: Its very existence is a bad omen, with its presence often coinciding with disasters and misfortune, leading to widespread loathing and fear. However, it appears as a preemptive warning because it senses disasters before they occur.
- Darkraven: Born on the darkest night, the Darkraven embodies the shadowy energy of the abyss. Its eerie, otherworldly calls lure the lost and disoriented towards the unknown depths of the void.
- Annihilator: Legends say the Annihilator emerges from the deepest abyss, embodying a dark power. It feasts on the fear of other beings, and its arrival often foretells an unspeakable disaster and destruction.
