Mission: Impossible Actor Gets Bruised in Intense Fight Scene

In one intense fight sequence from “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, is given a rough time by his fellow actor. The aftermath of this battle left him with visible bruises to attest to the authenticity of the scene. This eighth installment in the action-packed series could potentially be its last, as it brings back Tom Cruise’s IMF agent Ethan Hunt and his team, who are once again battling an AI known as The Entity and Gabriel, played by Esai Morales. “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” also welcomes the return of Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Pom Klementieff to the cast, while Greg Tarzan Davis makes his debut as a new character.

In a conversation with GamesRadar+, the cast of Mission: Impossible – Fallout talked about the tough hurdles they faced while executing the movie’s action stunts. Pom Klementieff shared her thoughts on the taxing physical requirements of playing Paris, whose action scenes varied from daring prison breaks to combats within blazing buildings. You can read her detailed insights below:

They each presented unique difficulties. One involved being bound with handcuffs, which made executing high kicks more complex and falling harder resulted in greater pain due to less protective clothing. I endured every part of the fight for this one as well.

In the set ablaze with genuine blazes, it was crucial for us to harmonize our performances with both Tarzan and Simon. While filming, I donned cold-weather attire, yet it was swelteringly hot indoors and an actual fire burned.

Engaging in continuous battles throughout the day left me drained and overheated, yet it appeared genuine, as if evident on our faces. The struggle seemed palpable. It was an awe-inspiring experience to capture those moments on film.

Meanwhile, Greg Tarzan Davis, making his debut as Theo Degas, was on the receiving end of some genuine high kicks from Pom Klementieff during the prison scene. These kicks were so powerful that they resulted in bruises on him due to her remarkable strength. You can read his full comments below:

In simpler terms, Pom kept kicking me, leaving bruises on my side. Admittedly, I requested her to do it, aiming for a realistic effect. However, I underestimated the force behind a Pom’s kick. When she asked if I was alright, I reassured her that I was fine and continued with my request.

What The Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning Cast’s Comments Mean For The Movie

Tom Cruise Isn’t The Only One Who Does His Own Stunts

As a devoted fan throughout the Mission: Impossible series, I’ve had the thrill of witnessing Tom Cruise’s daring feats escalate to breathtaking extremes. He’s scaled the world’s tallest structures, leapt from planes, trains, and helicopters, and astoundingly managed to hold his breath for a staggering four minutes. For The Final Reckoning, Cruise yet again surpassed his already remarkable limits, leaving us gripped by an exhilarating aerial stunt where he dangled off a biplane in mid-air, and another underwater sequence that demanded him to hold his breath for such a prolonged period that he started taking in his own carbon dioxide.

Although Tom Cruise often receives the majority of recognition for his daring stunts, it’s important to note that he isn’t the only actor in the franchise who performs his own stunts. Every team member had their turn shining in high-adrenaline action sequences, and they all relished the challenge and hardship of authentic combat scenes and challenging filming locations. Beyond the hand-to-hand battles, the cast also endured the formidable challenge of shooting in subzero Arctic temperatures that dropped below -40 degrees, a moment Hayley Atwell referred to as the most “rewarding” aspect of her involvement.

I truly enjoyed it. It wasn’t hard for me because I found it incredibly rewarding and gratifying each day to be present there. However, spending time in the Arctic at minus 40 degrees was my preferred climate. It was an incredibly unusual yet captivating location to experience.

It’s incredible to reflect on the fact that I never imagined myself in such an isolated terrain, much less working alongside Sled Dogs and contributing to a massive film series. This experience will undoubtedly be etched in my memory forever. It’s not often that a movie set is disrupted by a polar bear casually strolling past, but it happened here!

Our Take On Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s Stunts

Are They Bigger & Better Than Ever?

Given that The Final Reckoning could potentially be the last installment of the Mission: Impossible series, there was an enormous expectation to elevate the stunts to unprecedented levels, and they seem to have accomplished this feat. It’s not just Tom Cruise participating in the action, but the entire cast. Based on their visible injuries, burns, and the fervor with which they threw themselves into their roles, it seems they met the challenge head-on, and perhaps even exceeded it.
