As someone who has spent countless hours traversing rugged terrains and battling against the elements, I find myself utterly captivated by the latest collaboration between MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon. With my own experiences hiking through muddy trails and navigating treacherous peaks, I can appreciate the practicality and durability of these innovative pieces.
Building upon the recent launch of their collaborative XT-Mary J, MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon are elevating their shared design venture to unprecedented levels by introducing their inaugural ready-to-wear line together.
Working within a monochrome, black-and-white scheme, this streamlined collection is split into two main groups: GORE-TEX and Seamless. The first category encompasses trench coats, straight-leg five-pocket trousers, zippered windbreakers, and oversized button-down shirts, all crafted from the materials you’d expect – GORE-TEX fabrics. Conversely, the Seamless line focuses on leggings with stretch seamless technology and long-sleeved crewneck tops.
In footwear, the capsule includes new iterations of the Salomon ACS PRO 2 MM6 Maison Margiela in both sleek concrete gray and rubberized matte black finishes. Additionally, the Cross Low MM6 Maison Margiela, which twists the Salomon Speedcross trail shoe with lower proportions and a unique lug sole, is back in two new colorways: “Bubble Gum Pink/Bright Red” and “Almond/Army Green.” Notably, the model features a drawstring gaiter-style ripstop nylon closure that takes after extreme sports parkas and vintage waterproof galoshes.
Completing the diverse assortment, MM6 Maison Margiela has innovatively redesigned Salomon’s traditional daypack featuring numerous compartments, available in both sleek black and earthy mastic shades.
On November 7, you’ll be able to find the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon collection, which features various items, online and in the physical stores of both brands. Have a glance at the range showcased in the gallery above.
