This revamp introduces significant structural changes and keeps the prize pool steady at a cool USD 3 million. I can’t wait to see what this new format brings!

One significant modification in the MLBB MSC 2025 is a restructuring of both the Wild Card and Group Stage to highlight consistency, adaptability, and depth. In the revamped Wild Card phase, teams will face off using a Best-of-Three (BO3) GSL double-elimination system, replacing the previous single-round-robin method.

In this setup, the eight Wild Card squads are split into two groups initially. The top performers from each group move forward to the Semi-Finals between groups. The victors from those matches then compete in a best-of-five series, and only one triumphant team will progress to the main event.

The Group Stage gets restructured, transitioning from Best-of-Two (BO2) contests to a Best-of-Three double-elimination setup. With 16 teams divided into two groups, only the top four in each group will progress to the Elimination Stage.

In this setup, if a team has won both their matches without any losses (a 2-0 record), they gain the privilege to select their Knockout stage opponents from among those teams that have won one and lost one (a 2-1 record). The team that has completed their matches the quickest gets first pick, giving an additional advantage to every second of gameplay.

2021’s MSC introduces a brand new third-place match for the first time, offering Semi Finalists an additional opportunity to secure a top spot on the podium. The Elimination Phase will be a BO5 format, while the Grand Finals will escalate to a Best-of-Seven series for the grand finale confrontation.

The total award money stays at 3 million dollars. The winners will take home 1 million dollars, the second place finishers will receive 500 thousand dollars, and there’s 250 thousand dollars set aside for third place – an increase from last year’s 200 thousand dollars for third place.
