Modulus Labs joins Tools for Humanity to support applied research for World

As an analyst with years of experience under my belt, I find this partnership between Tools for Humanity (TFH) and Modulus Labs intriguing. Having closely followed both entities, I can see how their shared goals and complementary strengths could lead to groundbreaking advancements.

Through a recent announcement, Tools for Humanity, a key player in the human identity network and cryptocurrency project World, has formed a strategic alliance with innovative AI company, Modulus Labs.

According to a recent blog post by Tools for Humanity, dated December 12th, Modulus Labs has decided to collaborate with them to strengthen World (WLD), a project under the TFH umbrella.

Under this collaboration, Daniel Shorr, Ryan Cao, and other Modulus Labs team members including Giorgos Zirdelis, Ende Shen, Ben Wilson, Makis Arsenis, and Vishruti Ganesh will be integrating with the TFH group. This joint effort aims to augment Tools for Humanity’s abilities by bolstering their capacity. Their combined efforts will initiate a fresh Applied Research team that concentrates on developing practical, scalable, and secure cryptography and machine learning solutions.

TFH and Modulus Labs initially joined forces in early 2023, motivated by their common ambition to enhance the security and capacity of the World Network, which was previously known as the security and scalability infrastructure of Worldcoin.

After that, this collaboration has propelled Modulus Labs to broaden their research in the realm of zero-knowledge prover solutions. By utilizing tailored machine learning tech, Modulus is transforming countless smartphones into spaces that emphasize confidentiality and anonymity.

TFH and Modulus Labs have employed their abilities to set up zero-knowledge data commitment schemes on Orbs worldwide, ensuring private storage and verification for the network’s iris scanning devices. As Modulus joins TFH’s Research and Development team, this collaboration seeks to deepen the integration of cryptography and artificial intelligence, ultimately broadening the potential capabilities of the World network.

Established in the year 2022, Modulus Labs has made its mark as a significant figure within the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Notable contributions from this company include setting a new standard for AI security verification, developing verifiable AI games, and creating digital artwork.

Since its launch in 2023, the project has gained considerable momentum and progress. Although it faced challenges such as regulations and legal issues, it has managed to release around 1,000 Orbs and confirm the identities of more than 8 million individuals worldwide. The World App, a self-custody wallet for the World Network, has garnered over 19.3 million users from more than 160 countries.
