Farming Honey In The Windswept Plains

It’s great news that the ideal spot for gathering Honey in Monster Hunter Wilds can be found within the Windswept Plains, a map players initially explore during their campaign (a location many will recognize from the open beta). During the Season of Plenty, there are three specific zones in this map where Honey is particularly abundant: one close to area 1, another near area 8, and a third near area 13. These areas are highlighted in the provided image.

Personally, I suggest commencing at the base camp near Area 1. Initiate by leaving the central hub and moving south towards the beehives close to Area 1. Proceed east to the hives by the river in Area 8, followed by a long trek south to the oasis in Area 13. You can easily mark each location as a checkpoint, then let your Seikret take control and run automatically from one point to another.

Each time I needed to finish a “honey collection mission“, it took me approximately four minutes. However, the “honey reappears every 15 minutes” so you’ll need to wait after each session. This gives you ample opportunity to embark on a hunt or explore another location for additional honey farming, between each run.

Keep in mind that Honey is primarily found in these regions during the Abundant Season. However, this changes at significant points in the story and occasionally after finishing the main campaign. Although Honey will continue to appear in similar locations even during the Fallow Season, it’s best to coordinate your honey gathering with the Abundant Season for maximum reward. You can check the current season’s name in the upper-left corner of your map at any time.

Farming In The Scarlet Forest

Here’s another way to put it: “If Honey isn’t available in the Plains yet, why not try gathering some Honey in the Scarlet Forest for now? It’s less abundant and the beehives are more scattered, so you’ll need to traverse the entire map to collect a similar amount. This means your trips will take longer.

A fair amount of Honey clusters can be found near location 16 within the Scarlet Forest, but the rest are scattered. To collect all the Honey, it would be wise to navigate to each cluster using the Filter Icons, then hop on your Seikret, travel there, and repeat until you’ve gathered all the Honey marked on the map.

Is There Honey In Other Regions?

In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, Honey is abundant primarily in the Plains and Forest areas. This is because these regions offer plenty of vegetation and water sources that support bee survival, unlike the Oilwell Basin, which is less hospitable to insect life. Although you might stumble upon a hive in the Oilwell Basin occasionally, it’s not a reliable spot for farming Honey.

As a gamer, I find that some maps are just too compact to accommodate beehives. For instance, Wyveria and the Wounded Hollow don’t have any honey because they’re primarily designed as arenas for battling large monsters – there’s no honey there because these locations aren’t set up for resource gathering.
