Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Beat Zoh Shia

In the heart of the Dragontorch Shrine lies the ultimate challenge for Monster Hunter Wilds – the final boss. Known as Zoh Shia, this towering, dragon-esque entity is embellished with crystals and sports an expressionless visage.

Get ready to face an unprecedented fight as the primary end-level adversary in our game. However, there’s no need to worry! This guide will outline crucial strategies to aid you in overcoming this formidable foe.

Zoh Shia Weaknesses

Completing the mission against Zoh Shia marks the end of the main campaign, but be warned, the ultimate foe will pose a significant challenge if you aim for a High Rank achievement.

In the plot, Zoh Shia plays a significant role, implying that vanquishing the colossal construct is a single, unrepeatable event.

To start off, remember to pack plenty of potions, especially Mega Potions for good measure! Then, prepare meals and consume stat-enhancing items to boost defense, stamina, and health, among others. You’ll want to stay robust against Zoh Shia’s relentless attacks and keep your stamina high for all the evasive maneuvers you’ll need to execute.

In combat with Zoh Shia, it’s crucial to use the Dragon Element as it offers an effective solution. Pack some Dragon Ammo and Dragon Pods for maximum benefit of this vulnerability. Moreover, be aware that the final boss is susceptible to various debilitating conditions such as Poison, Sleep, Paralysis, and Blastblight, so consider integrating these status effects into your game plan.

On the contrary, Exhaust, Flash Pods, Sonic Bombs, Shock Traps, and Pitfall Traps are ineffective. Make sure to pack Earplugs and Nulberries as they will come in handy for you.

Zoh Shia has no weak points. But you can break its head, wings, and forelegs and sever its tail.

Zoh Shia Attacks

On Zoh Shia’s body, the crystals aren’t merely decorative; they function as a shield for the final boss. With each powerful strike you land, this barrier gradually weakens, revealing vulnerable spots. Continuously attack these exposed areas as the shield can recover. In essence, go all out, don’t hold back, even if it means tossing in everything, including the kitchen sink!

Although Zoh Shia is an artificial creation, it has the ability to roar loudly, which is why ear protection is crucial – without it, you could become motionless! On the other hand, possessing Windproof abilities can help alleviate strong winds during combat.

In the role of the ultimate adversary, Zoh Shia will unleash well-known area-of-effect (AOE) assaults during specific stages of the fight. For example:

1. Phase 1: A powerful wave attack known as “Tidal Surge”.
2. Phase 2: An explosive barrage called “Comet Blast”.
3. Phase 3: The devastating “Nova Rain” which rains down destruction from the skies.
4. And so on…

This way, players will need to adapt their strategies accordingly and be prepared for these iconic moves during the battle against Zoh Shia.

  • Creating cracks on the ground after flying away from you. Dodge the cracks to avoid damage.
  • Spitting fireballs as numerous rocks appear from out of nowhere. Take cover while keeping the camera pointed upward to see if any projectiles are heading your way.
  • Covering the ground with molten lava. Mount up and get behind the monster quickly.
  • Casting lightning strikes while doing fire and ice attacks. Keep your distance and take cover.

Zoh Shia has the ability to inflict both Fireblight and Thunderblight conditions on you. Fireblight drains your health over time, while Thunderblight increases your susceptibility to being stunned. In such situations, Nulberries, Fire Resistance, Blight Resistance, and Thunder Resistance can prove very useful.

Item Drops

Currently, after overcoming Zoh Shia, there are no special loot drops for you. However, your efforts will be compensated with items related to guardians such as Guardian Scales, Guardian’s Blood, and Durable Guardian Bones instead.
