General Gameplay Achievements

In this game, you can earn various types of accomplishments as you play – these are all the general ones. They span a broad spectrum, including milestones related to your overall advancement and progress within the game’s narrative.
Mostly, these awards are given for achieving milestones such as finishing tutorials tailored to mechanics, creating specific types of equipment, or discovering new locations. Some can be earned effortlessly during gameplay, while others might necessitate significant time spent on repetitive tasks (grinding) in order to acquire them.
Generally speaking, these are the achievements within the main game that can be earned by simply playing through it thoroughly, making them accessible for almost everyone.
Achievement/Trophy Name | Requirements | How to Unlock |
---|---|---|
The Bigger They Are… | Successfully mounted a monster for the first time. | All you need to do to get this achievement is mount literally any monster. To do this, you’ll need to jump/attack it from above, which you can do from any ledge or even off of Seikret. |
Giant Crown | Obtained your first Silver Crown or higher in the Hunting Log. | You need to obtain your first Silver Crown (or higher) in the Hunting Log to get this achievement, which you should be able to get automatically through the story. |
The Hunt is On! | Completed your first field survey. | Field Surveys become available after you’ve unlocked high-ranking hunts. The soonest you’ll be able to complete one will be during Chapter 3 of the main story. |
Let the Investigations Begin! | Completed your first investigation. | To get this achievement, you’ll need to begin and finish a full investigation. To do this easily, you can start by selecting a monster’s icon, creating a quest for that monster, and then choosing to save it as an investigation. |
Explorer of the Eastlands | Obtained 10 different special items of Rarity 6. | Each map has its own special items; this achievement requires you to get the rarer versions of these items. The best time to collect these items is during an Emergence Event. |
Miniature Crown | Obtained your first Miniature Crown in the Hunting Log. | Using the binoculars, you can spot Crown monsters out in the wild; to get one with a Miniature Crown, look for one that looks like a Gold Crown but is a little shorter. |
Bourgeois Hunter | Possessed 1,000,000 zenny. | This achievement can be unlocked simply by saving your currency and progressing naturally through the game. You can also sell items like materials or catch fish to give your in-game wallet an extra boost. |
Someone Worth Following | Completed 100 quests with your Palico deployed. | Go on and complete at least 100 quests with your Palico by your side. You can only deploy your Palico if you go alone or with one other hunter, so don’t try to get this achievement at the same time as “Hunters United Forever”. |
A Keen-eyed Observation | Used the binoculars to spot a Gold-Crown large monster. | Once you’ve unlocked the binoculars, use them to spy on monsters in the wild until you’ve come across a large monster with a Gold Crown. |
Miniature Crown Collector | Obtained a Miniature Crown for 10 monsters or more in the Hunting Log. | You can spot Crown monsters in the wild using the binoculars; to get ones with Miniature Crowns, look for the ones that look like they have a Gold Crown but are a little shorter. Do this for at least 10 monsters. |
Impregnable Defense | Forged 5 different pieces of armor with Rarity 7 or higher. | Once your character reaches HR 40, you’ll be able to craft Rarity 7+ armor. You can obtain this achievement by crafting yourself a full set of armor with this Rarity level, or just by crafting multiples of the same item, like Boots. |
Power is Everything | Forged 5 different weapons with Rarity 7 or higher. | Once your character reaches HR 40, you’ll be able to craft Rarity 7+ weapons. You can obtain this achievement by crafting 5 or more traditional weapons at Rarity 7. |
Miniature Crown Master | Obtained a Miniature Crown for many monsters in the Hunting Log. | You can spot Crown monsters in the wild using the binoculars; to get ones with Miniature Crowns, look for the ones that look like they have a Gold Crown but are a little shorter. Do this for as many monsters as you possibly can. There are 26 monsters in the game that can have a miniature crown. |
Giant Crown Collector | Obtained a Gold Crown for 10 or more monsters in the Hunting Log. | Using the binoculars, you’ll be able to spot monsters with Crowns out in the wild. Look for monsters with an icon that looks like a golden crown, and do this for at least 10 monsters. |
Giant Crown Master | Obtained a Gold Crown for many monsters in the Hunting Log. | Using the binoculars, you’ll be able to spot monsters with Crowns out in the wild. Look for monsters with an icon that looks like a golden crown, and then repeat as many times as necessary. There are 26 monsters you can do this with, so keep finding ones with gold crowns until the trophy is unlocked. |
Among the 29 beasties roaming this game, a mere 26 of them can appear adorned with Crowns. Unfortunately, Jin Dahad, Zho Shia, and the mighty Guardian Arkveld are not among those crowned few. Be sure to bear this in mind as you chase after those elusive Crown-related accolades!
Hunting Achievements

These are all the hunting-related achievements that can be unlocked in the game.
The majority of these awards are typically acquired by overcoming/subduing particular monsters, achieving victory under particular circumstances, or by employing specific tactics to vanquish them.
Many of these accomplishments are both simple and challenging at the same time – they may not be overly complicated, but they will still require some time to finish.
Achievement/Trophy Name | Requirements | How to Unlock |
---|---|---|
Hunter-Assassin | Performed your first successful Sneak Attack. | This achievement can be obtained fairly easily simply by sneaking up behind a monster and performing a Sneak Attack. If you’re having trouble with this, try equipping the Ghillie Mantle prior to attacking. |
Hit ‘Em Where it Hurts! | Landed 50 successful attacks on weak points or wounds in Focus Mode. | To get this achievement, you’ll need to land at least 50 Focus Strikes on open wounds while battling. |
Monster Ph.D. | Hunted many different large monsters. | To unlock this achievement, you’ll need to hunt all the base game’s 29 different monsters at least once. Most of these will be covered in the main story, so try not to worry too much about this one early on. |
Seasoned Hunter | Hunted 50 tempered monsters. | This achievement can be unlocked by hunting 50 tempered monsters, which are unlocked after completing the “Wyvern Spark and Rose Thorns” main quest. These monsters will appear in every region once the quest has been completed. |
Monster Slayer | Hunted 100 large monsters. | All you need to do is hunt down 100 large monsters, which can be done surprisingly easily through the game’s main story. If you still haven’t reached 100 after you’ve completed the game, then all you have to do is pick up the few remaining stragglers you need afterward. |
Top of the Food Chain | Hunted 50 apex predators. | Among the naturally spawning monsters in the wild, there are apex predators, which are the most dangerous and aggressive monsters of each area. Currently, there are 4 known apex predators in the game: Rey Dau, Nu Udra, Uth Duna, and Jin Dahad. These can be found in the Windward Plains, the Oilwell Basin, the Scarlet Forest, and the Iceshard Cliffs. |
Capture Pro | Captured 50 monsters. | After you’ve completed the Capture Tutorial in the main story, you’ll be able to go out and collect the materials necessary for capturing monsters. Do this, and then repeat until you’ve reached 50 captures. |
Established Hunter | Reached Hunter Rank 100. | Before you can get this achievement, you’ll need to first complete the main story. Once the main story has been completed, the rank cap will be removed, and you’ll then be able to climb the ranks up to 100. |
Many of these accomplishments require significant effort and aren’t easily obtained during a quick play session. If your goal is to collect all the game’s trophies quickly, it would be wise to begin working on these challenging achievements from the start, ideally alongside other tasks.
Mission And Quest Achievements

This collection encompasses all the achievements linked to the game’s missions and quests, and one notable feature of this game is its abundance of missions and quests.
Many of these accomplishments are attainable primarily by finishing the primary storyline quests, making them among the least challenging feats in the game.
If you’re a completionist, you’ll find this category effortless; the majority of these tasks are impossible to miss if you simply follow the normal course of playing the game.
Achievement/Trophy Name | Requirements | How to Unlock |
---|---|---|
Windward Lands | Completed mission: The Desert Trotters. | This achievement is pretty much unmissable. All you need to do is complete the game’s first mission. |
Shadow in the Downpour | Completed mission: Long-Forgotten Flame. | The “Long-Forgotten Flame” is a story mission available early in the game and is impossible to miss. |
Bringer of Harmony | Completed mission: Monster Hunter. | This achievement is story-related and will become available towards the end of the story. There will be a strong “boss” monster you’ll have to face prior to the credits rolling, which you’ll need to defeat in order to get this achievement. |
New Ecosystems | Completed mission: New Ecosystems. | This mission will become available to players after the initial story has been completed. New Ecosystems will be the very first mission you’ll receive post-game, so don’t worry too much about missing it. |
A Bitter Environment | Completed mission: Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns. | This achievement’s required mission can be completed simply by going along with the story. The “Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns” quest removes the HR 20 limit for players, so you’ll need to reach HR 20 prior to taking it on. |
Beyond the Black Wings | Completed mission: A World Turned Upside Down. | This achievement’s mission, “A World Turned Upside Down“, will become available to players in Chapter 5 of the game’s main story. This achievement is unmissable as long as you maintain consistent story progression. |
One Corner of the World | Completed mission: What Lies Ahead. | The “What Lies Ahead” mission is the final mission of the main story. Once it’s been completed, you’ll have officially “beaten” the game, along with gaining this achievement. |
A True Hunter is Never Satisfied | Completed 50 quests. | This one is pretty straightforward. All you need to do is complete at least 50 quests, most of which will be taken care of during the main story. |
A Step Toward Mutual Understanding | Completed your first side mission. | You can unlock this achievement by completing your first side mission. One of the easiest side missions that you can get early on is the “Fishing: Life, in Microscosm” mission given to you by Kanya. |
East to West, A Hunter Never Rests | Completed 30 different side missions. | This achievement requires you to complete 30 different side missions unrelated to the main story, not including optional quests. |
Hunters United | Completed a quest via multiplayer. | Connect with a friend or a fellow hunter online and complete a quest together. |
Hunters United Forever | Completed 100 quests via multiplayer. | Complete at least 100 quests with friends or other online hunters through multiplayer. |
The majority of these accomplishments are typically attainable just by progressing through the game’s primary narrative, so there’s no need to worry excessively about unlocking them.
Miscellaneous Achievements

Here are some scattered accomplishments that generally don’t impact the primary narrative advancement.
A few of these awards can be earned rather quickly at the start of the game. However, others are hidden and, although they’re not overly challenging, require some extra work to achieve.
Achievement/Trophy Name | Requirements | How to Unlock |
---|---|---|
Angling for a Bite | Successfully fished for the first time. | This achievement will unlock after you’ve successfully fished for the first time in the game. This can be obtained at the same time as the “A Step Toward Mutual Understanding” achievement by completing the first fishing side mission given to you by Kanya. |
Was it a Meal to Remember? | Cooked over the BBQ Grill for the first time. | Open your Portable BBQ Grill and select “Grill a Meal“. |
Mmm, So Tasty! | Successfully cooked a well-done steak for the first time. | Open your Portable BBQ Grill and select “Grill Meat“. |
I Caught a Shooting Star! | Caught a creature in the desert that shines like a shooting star. | In the Windward Plains at night, you’ll be able to find a glowing blue rodent called the Sandstar. You’ll need to capture it to unlock the achievement, but you’ll also eventually get a quest from the twins in the base camp later on to capture a form of endemic life, so you might want to wait until you’ve received that quest before capturing it. That way, you’ll be killing two birds with one stone. |
A Prize Held High | Caught a creature that bears an ancient wyvern coin. | In the Flowering Rocks area in the Scarlet Forest, you’ll be able to come across a monster called the Curioshell Crab. Capture at least one to unlock this achievement. |
Monster (Squid) Hunter | Caught a giant squid while fishing. | You’ll need to catch the Goliath Squid to unlock this achievement, which usually spawns at night in the Scarlet Forest. |
A-fish-ionado | Reeled in 30 whoppers while fishing. | Using your fishing rod, capture at least 30 whopper-sized fish. |
Glamper | Customized a pop-up camp for the first time. | After you unlock pop-up camps, talk to the relevant Palico at the forest base camp and choose the “Edit Camp” option. From here, you’ll be able to customize it to your liking. |
Campmaster | Established pop-up camps in 10 places. | Set up at least 10 different pop-up camps around the map. |
Newly Forged Bonds | Followed someone for the first time. | All you have to do to complete this achievement is follow one of your fellow hunters that you’ve played with before. |
Ride-or-die Companion | Customized your Seikret or changed its decorations for the first time. | You’ll be able to customize your Seikret from your Tent by opening the Appearance Menu and selecting Seikret Customization. |
A Legacy Restored | Obtained an Artian Weapon of Rarity 8. | Before you can unlock this achievement, you’ll need to first reach the point in the main story that teaches you about Artian weapons. After that, you’ll need to obtain at least 3 Ancient Weapon fragments before forging them into a usable weapon. |
Gossip Hunter | Viewed 30 different Hunter Profiles. | View the profiles of at least 30 other Hunters. |
Eastward Wings | Obtained all other achievements. | This achievement is pretty self-explanatory. All you have to do to unlock it is obtain all the other achievements in the game to ultimately be rewarded with this final trophy. |
