- Mortal Kombat Mobile sees the return of iconic guest character Spawn
- The McFarlane-created anti-hero comes based on his Mortal Kombat 11 version
- He’ll be joined soon by MK1 version Kenshi, and comes with three new Friendships and a Brutality
As a longtime gamer and Mortal Kombat fan, I can’t help but get excited about the latest addition to Mortal Kombat Mobile: none other than Spawn himself! This iconic anti-hero has been a staple of comic books and video games for decades, and his inclusion in the mobile version is a welcome surprise.
In simple terms, Mortal Kombat Mobile, the mobile adaptation of Mortal Kombat, will welcome its first guest character – the renowned anti-hero Spawn, created by Todd McFarlane. Alongside him comes Kenshi in his original Mortal Kombat form.
Al Simmons, originally named Spawn, was a slain soldier who struck a bargain with the Devil, resurrecting him on Earth as a brooding avenger. Equipped with formidable otherworldly abilities, he could potentially trigger the End of Days.
In the ’90s, I came across this fascinating character named Spawn, brought to life by Todd McFarlane. He was a groundbreaking creation within Image Comics’ roster, leaving a significant mark. Not just that, but there was always buzz around him being featured in Mortal Kombat. I remember his debut in Mortal Kombat 11 with great excitement!
Necroplasm overload
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t contain my excitement when I hear that Spawn is joining the roster in the latest version of Kenshi, even if it’s for a mobile adaptation of the beloved fighting game. While some series purists might scoff at this new platform, I know there’s a sizable fanbase of Spawn and MK enthusiasts who will undoubtedly welcome his dark and anti-heroic presence in the game.
In the latest update for Mortal Kombat Mobile, Spawn, as depicted in Mortal Kombat 11, is now playable. This release includes three new Friendship finishers and one Brutality for Spawn, as well as new Hellspawn dungeons for your fighters to conquer. Download it from the iOS App Store or Google Play today!
Instead of saying “As for other games, we feel are worth a play, it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t share with you our extensive collection of the best mobile games in 2024 (thus far). On the other hand, every week, we feature the newest additions to our top five must-try mobile games!”
Addendum:
Right as we were about to post this story, the entirety of the Netherrealm Studios mobile team
was allegedly sacked
. Unfortunately, it looks like the addition of Spawn may be the last hurrah of this sadly-axed team.
