The movie starring Sanya Malhotra titled “Mrs.” has sparked conversation across town since its streaming debut. In this film, Nishant Dahiya portrays a husband who is poisonous and unwilling to support his wife against the family patriarch. Due to his unlikable character, he’s faced harsh criticism on social media, particularly from men.
As a passionate admirer putting words to my feelings, I’d share this: In a heart-to-heart with Hindustan Times, the captivating Nishant Dahiya unveiled the challenges he faced when men took issue with his portrayal of Diwakar Kumar in the movie. Reflecting on the feedback for his character in Mrs., the actor reminisced about receiving both affection and criticism in equal quantities.
Regarding the “most severe responses” he encountered from men, Dahiya disclosed that some sent him messages like, “You idiotic actor, swallow rat poison! May you die in a terrible place, you scoundrel!” Stunned by such hostile remarks from males, the Akeli actor mentioned that if they had originated from women, he would have grasped the motive behind them.
In his analysis of the hostility he’s encountering from men, the actor suggested that perhaps there’s something about Diwakar that triggers them emotionally. He also mentioned that while some women dislike his character Diwakar, many have praised his performance.
Explaining the reason behind the backlash he’s experiencing from men, the actor hypothesized that it might be because they feel strongly about something related to Diwakar. He also shared that though some females dislike the character Diwakar, they admire his acting abilities.
Additionally, his inbox was overflowing with messages from individuals who argued that he didn’t deserve to be an actor due to accepting a poor role. Some questioned his judgment in selecting quality roles instead.
At the cinema, you’ll find a film titled “Mrs.” Directed by Arati Kadav, it is a reimagining of the 2021 Malayalam movie, “The Great Indian Kitchen”. In this story, Sanya Malhotra portrays a gifted dancer who must abandon her aspirations to adhere to the strict rules imposed by her newly-formed patriarchal household. Alongside Sany and Nishant, the cast includes Kanwaljit Singh, Aparna Ghoshal, Nitya Moyal, Varun Badola and numerous others.
