In the film, renowned TV and film actor Kanwaljit Singh portrays a stern father-in-law character who establishes all the house rules that are obeyed only by the women in the family. He is frequently seen criticizing the attempts made by his newlywed daughter-in-law, finding faults with everything she does. Since he acknowledges that the character he portrays may be problematic, Kanwaljit Singh pokes fun at it by experiencing the criticism himself and sharing a witty video clip as a joke.
On February 20, 2025, Singh uploaded a video on his Instagram account that sparked online discussions. The clip begins with him preparing a meal according to his mother’s recipe and eagerly presenting it to a woman in his family. Just moments after serving the food, an unappreciative woman takes her seat. When Singh asks her how she likes the meal, she replies, “It’s not salty enough.” Feeling disheartened by her criticism, he returns to the kitchen.
