Team,

Today, I’m formally appointing Rebecca Kutler as the President of MSNBC. Over her brief tenure as interim president, it has become evident to me that she possesses a broad strategic perspective and the essential leadership abilities required to maintain our commitment to our brand promise while positioning MSNBC for growth amidst industry transformation.

After becoming part of the network, Rebecca has been instrumental in the creation of several successful program launches. She has also fueled MSNBC’s nonlinear growth and strategic investments. Furthermore, she has introduced groundbreaking audience-centric products. By establishing an exceptional news gathering operation and determining the key factors for staying competitive, Rebecca and her team will maintain MSNBC’s essential status for our audiences and partners.

It’s a momentous time as we establish our new company’s functions, and it’s been a delight collaborating with Rebecca these past months. I’m ecstatic to have her – a highly esteemed figure – steering the ship at MSNBC during such a crucial juncture.

Over the past few weeks, the news flow has been relentless, but MSNBC’s coverage has truly shone for its detailed approach, sharp focus, and thought-provoking content. Due to their dedicated efforts, the audience – whether they watch, read, or listen – are showing renewed interest in record numbers.

I appreciate your efforts very much, and let’s extend our warm congratulations to Rebecca for her hard-earned promotion.
