However, there’s a snag; players are expressing growing dissatisfaction with the maps that have a comic-book style appearance.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 brings Fishfection and Paintball party modes
The fifth season reloaded is approaching, marking one of our most significant updates so far, with preparations underway for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 by optimizing file sizes.
In the latest update, called Reloaded, we’re introducing some fresh party game modes. These include classic variations of Search and Destroy such as Cyber Attack and Defuse or Destroy, along with two new ones: Fishfection, where you’ll be targeting fish-themed operators with harpoons, and a good old Paintball mode.
In a simplified format, Playing paintball follows traditional guidelines where getting tagged once means you’re out, making it one of the tougher game modes due to its combination with Hardpoint, Domination, and an additional mode called One in a Chamber. This has led discussions about the maps, with developers confirming that Paintball will take place on Toonoxide and Celship.
A group of dissatisfied Call of Duty enthusiasts believe that classic maps such as Rush from the Black Ops collection could have benefited with more attention or implementation in a different way.
Modern Warfare 3 players bored of the new cel-shaded maps
Recently, the developers have found themselves particularly drawn to using cel-shaded map styles, but the response from the audience hasn’t been as enthusiastic as Sledgehammer may have anticipated.
Players have turned to Reddit to express their frustration about these maps, claiming that they are spoiling the game. One fan suggested that “Rush” would be an ideal choice. Another player expressed confusion as to why, on Vondel, it feels like a paintball field, questioning Sledgehammer’s fascination with the cel-shading effect.
