Natasha Rothwell Reveals What She Learned from Jennifer Coolidge on The White Lotus

Since learning that Natasha Rothwell’s character Belinda would connect the stories in Season 3 of The White Lotus, set in Thailand, our curiosity has been piqued about how her spa manager storyline might unfold. Recently, we had a conversation with the actress and couldn’t help but inquire about the impact Jennifer Coolidge had on her during their time working together on the series, which is planned for release in 2025.

For those who’ve kept up with the series (available on Max for subscribers), it’s common knowledge that Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya McQuoid, met an unfortunate end at the close of Season 2, while being chased by a group of flamboyant gay men. Unfortunately, Natasha Rothwell didn’t get to work with Coolidge again in subsequent seasons, but she did express delight when given the opportunity to consider themselves friends with the actress. In her own words:

You’re absolutely right about her! She’s truly extraordinary, isn’t she? If only I could travel back in time to let my past self know that I’d be friends with Stiffler’s mom! I’d be utterly astonished, thinking it was too good to be true. So chic, yet so warm-hearted and full of life – she just exudes a unique energy. She’s completely authentic, and I can’t help but admire that quality in her.

Absolutely, Rothwell seems to be talking about the “American Pie” film series where Coolidge portrayed Jeanine, the mother of Stifler (played by Seann William Scott), in the first four comedies. It’s quite fascinating when an actor gets a chance to work with actors they admired during their own growth years.

Over the years, Coolidge’s fame has significantly grown following her portrayal of Tanya in Season 1 of The White Lotus. During our conversation, Rothwell described the Maui setting as a miniature haven of artistic creativity initially. However, when she reprised her role for the Thailand season, it transformed into one of the most popular television shows around.

In Season 3 of “The White Lotus,” although Rothwell and Coolidge won’t share the screen, there remains an intriguing link to explore. Tanya’s husband, Greg Hunt, coincidentally visits the Thai resort alongside Belinda, but this time with a new companion. Previously speculated as a potential attempted-murder suspect of Tanya, it’s possible that Belinda could be implicated in bringing Greg to justice for his alleged crimes!
