As a long-time NCIS fanatic who has weathered countless seasons, character changes, and shocking plot twists, I must admit that the upcoming revelation of Nick Torres‘ secret girlfriend has me on the edge of my seat! The tantalizing hints dropped by showrunner Steven D. Binder about a main cast member not being happy about this new love interest have sparked my curiosity to an all-time high.

Previously, it appeared that Wilmer Valderrama’s character Nick Torres and Emily Wickersham’s character Ellie Bishop from NCIS might become a couple, but this possibility vanished when she departed at the end of Season 18. Later, in Season 22, Torres returned earlier, and it was disclosed in the midseason finale (which can now be watched with a Paramount subscription) that he has a hidden girlfriend whom he planned to celebrate Christmas with. The question remains as to when we’ll discover her identity, and potential trouble may arise when the main characters learn about her. This topic was discussed by NCIS showrunner Steven D. Binder in an interview with TopMob before “Humbug” airs on the 2024 TV schedule.
Apart from sharing details about Deputy Director Gabriel LaRoche’s future after his recent unexpected appearance, Binder also shared with me some exciting insights regarding when NCIS will reveal a significant development in Torres’ love life. Interestingly, this major event coincides with an unveiling of fresh information about one of Alden Parker’s most recognized traits on the CBS series, as Binder elaborated.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t hide my excitement about what’s coming next! In an upcoming episode, we’ll get to see Parker, a familiar face from NCIS, with a sweet twist. You’ll see him buying pastries regularly, and it turns out he has a secret crush on the baker. The plot thickens as the case unfolds around the very bakery where Parker gets his pastries. This episode is titled ‘Baker’s Men’, and we’ll also be introducing Torres’ new girlfriend in the mix. The person who will have the most trouble with this reveal? Initially, the details Steven D. Binder disclosed about Torres’ girlfriend appeared somewhat hazy; however, if any regular cast member of NCIS is set to have a problem with this enigmatic woman, I’m confident that the showrunner is referring to Jessica Knight’s sister, Robin, portrayed by Lilan Bowden. So far, she has only been seen in the Season 20 episode “Turkey Trot”. As Katrina Law revealed to TVLine, Robin will reappear in Season 22. Given this information, it seems plausible that Jessica may not only feel upset about Torres dating her sister but also be the one left in the dark last.
I’m eager to find out if my guess holds true and at the same time, I hope Jessica’s concerns about Torres and Robin don’t strain their professional relationship and friendship. Additionally, it was intriguing to discover that we’ll drop by the bakery where Parker has been sourcing his delicious pastries. Given the episode title, it appears likely that either the bakery itself or perhaps the woman whom Gary Cole’s character is smitten with will play a role in this week’s case.
Season 22 of the TV series NCIS returns to the schedule on Monday, January 27, 2025, airing on CBS. Simultaneously, NCIS: Origins will continue, with fans eagerly anticipating the second half of the season, particularly the unveiling of Mike Franks’ backstory in the prequel.
