Currently, the NCIS franchise consists of three series airing on CBS: the main show, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney. All three are wrapping up their current seasons in the 2025 TV schedule and have been renewed for the 2025-2026 season. Soon, a fourth series will join them: the streaming-only NCIS: Tony & Ziva, featuring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprising their characters from the original NCIS. Fans are eager to know when they can start watching this show with a Paramount+ subscription. Intriguingly, Weatherly hinted at the release date in one of his recent interviews, which has got me quite excited!
In February, the filming for NCIS concluded, starting the clock for when the finished episodes will eventually be shown to us. Meanwhile, over at X, Michael Weatherly shared his thoughts on when the show might come out, responding to a fan’s question about the release date:
Hello there! We’re almost there, just about to unveil it. And speaking of being patient, have you ever wondered why Doctors excel at golf? It’s because they deal with numerous patients – not in an overbearing sense, but rather demonstrating the kind of patience that brings delightful surprises, similar to the anticipation one feels during the holiday season.
It appears I’ve managed to grasp what he’s hinting at, although the journey to this point has been quite long. If my intuition serves me right, we might see NCIS: Tony & Ziva by… Thanksgiving? But I was joking; Michael Weatherly claims that the spinoff will debut during the Christmas season instead. If so, and given that most Paramount+ original shows have 10 episodes per season, this would extend Tony & Ziva‘s run into February 2026 or possibly even March 2026 if it’s released towards the end of December.
To catch up on NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Paramount Plus is your go-to streaming service. Not only does it offer this show, but you’ll also gain access to the entire NCIS collection and a variety of other content. Choose between its Essential plan at $7.99 per month or the ad-free Premium plan for $12.99 a month which includes double the catalog with Showtime. Or, opt for the annual plan and get 2 months free, paying for 10 and getting 12 months of service. Check it out now! Deal Available.
Initially, I had high hopes that the spinoff of NCIS featuring Tony and Ziva would be released by this summer. It would have been ideal because it would mean that while other NCIS shows were on hiatus from their TV runs, fans could enjoy watching these characters together for the first time in over a decade. However, I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Having been a fan of the original NCIS since 2008, I’m simply grateful that Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo are rejoining the NCIS world regularly once again.

Brian Dietzen, from NCIS, recently hinted at reasons why fans should be thrilled about the anticipated Tony and Ziva spin-off: ‘There’s only so much I can reveal, but…’
Michael Weatherly is playfully teasing NCIS fans with his recent post about a vacation, which subtly hints at the filming of Tony and Ziva’s spinoff.
In the NCIS Season 11 episode “Past, Present, and Future,” Tony and Ziva were last on-screen together. This was Cote de Pablo’s final appearance as a regular series character, while Michael Weatherly departed from the main cast in the Season 13 finale. However, de Pablo returned as Ziva in the Season 16 finale and several episodes of Season 17. Similarly, Weatherly made an unexpected return in the David McCallum tribute episode that aired during Season 21. It’s worth noting that their on-screen reunion was preceded by a long-time off-screen reconciliation, enabling them to raise their daughter Tali together.
Unfortunately, in the upcoming series of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, our main characters will find themselves on the run across Europe as Tony’s security firm gets attacked. As the spinoff debuts, we’ll discover what perils lie ahead for them. Keep an eye out for the official release date announcement, whether it’s around Christmas or another time of the year if Weatherly’s prediction is incorrect.
