As a hardcore “NCIS” fan who’s been following the show since its early days, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia whenever I think about Special Agent Caitlin Todd, played by the brilliant Sasha Alexander. Kate Todd was a beloved character whose untimely demise shook up the team and left fans heartbroken. But fast forward to today, and it’s clear that Sasha Alexander is living her best life.
Today’s NCIS team is very different from what it used to be 20 years ago when the show first started. Back then, Special Agent Caitlin Todd (played by Sasha Alexander) was part of the team for only two seasons. However, her time on the show was cut short as she met an untimely end in a violent shooting during the second season. While Alexander’s departure from NCIS was largely due to its grueling schedule, she has continued to thrive in the entertainment industry since then. In fact, she appears to be enjoying her current career to the fullest.

Alexander now has an impressive appearance, and for updates on her latest endeavors and images, fans can check out her Instagram account where she frequently shares new photos. However, social media isn’t the sole platform to encounter Alexander. Since leaving “NCIS,” she’s remained active, securing a major role as Dr. Maura Isles in the crime drama series “Rizzoli & Isles.”
“It’s alright to be unique. It’s alright to have your own rhythm. We all function differently. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Sasha Alexander looks back on the aftermath of her NCIS character’s death
As a huge fan of Sasha Alexander’s acting skills, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with her diverse and dynamic career post-“NCIS.” While “Rizzoli & Isles” may not be her only gig these days, it’s hard to deny the significant impact her character Dr. Maura Isles had on audiences.
In 2023, Alexander appeared as a guest on “The Double L Show” podcast and discussed the popular series “NCIS” extensively. During their conversation, they touched upon the subject of Alexander’s character’s graphic death in the show. Following the episode’s release, she shared an amusing story that took place at church: A woman unexpectedly recognized her and, overcome with excitement, pointed a finger gun at her and exclaimed, “Pam, pam!” This encounter might have been premature, but Alexander maintains a cordial relationship with her former “NCIS” cast members.
Alexander joined forces with Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo in their podcast, “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch.” Notably, she was the inaugural guest on their show when it officially launched in June 2024. They reminisced about their experiences working together on NCIS, recounting an instance where Alexander sustained an injury – a broken nose – while filming a scene. Throughout her illustrious career, Alexander has achieved great feats, but for numerous fans, she will forever be remembered as Kate Todd.
