At the end of Season 4 on the 2025 television lineup, none of the ghost characters were removed, ensuring their safety. On the other hand, one human character, Jay, found himself in peril following an unintended pact with a devil. As a result, we might see him evading potentially fatal incidents throughout Season 5, as Utkarsh Ambudkar hinted. Fortunately, Rose McIver’s character, Sam, is poised to rescue Jay, and I’m excited about how she plans to do it.

According to Asher Grodman’s tease, the Season 4 finale of Ghosts left me feeling somewhat frustrated. Although we finally saw Pete and Alberta share a much-anticipated kiss, it was disappointing that Jay met his demise at the hands (or should I say, hooves?) of Elias, the demon. Now, Hetty’s wicked husband is attempting to claim Jay’s soul, which seems like it could create quite a stir in Season 5, as Utkarsh Ambudkar, who portrays the doomed Jay, revealed to TV Insider.

It appears that Jay might be narrowly avoiding life-threatening situations throughout the entire season. In other words, it seems as though he’s headed towards danger. To put it mildly, his existence seems precarious. We’ve been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, which means we have 44 episodes to keep him alive.

It’s clear that Elias possesses a unique talent for comedy, and Matt Walsh’s portrayal of him is exceptional in its hilarious depiction of his worst qualities. Therefore, we can anticipate that the schemes he devises to harm Jay will be both absurdly funny and subtly menacing.

It’s possible that we might encounter Hell on the show “Ghosts”, should the storyline develop to the extent that Elias abducts Jay and transports him to the underworld.

Essentially, it appears that Jay’s fate is uncertain, but it seems certain he will experience hardship or torment. Given this situation, the ghosts and Sam must unite to rescue him. This is exactly what they plan to do, as Rose McIver, who portrays Jay’s wife, has indicated her intentions to safeguard her husband in these words:

I’m hoping Sam will be firm in insisting that this matter gets addressed. She tends to be quite adaptable around many individuals. However, I doubt she’ll be able to oblige Elias on this particular occasion.

Encourage Rose, please! I long to witness her stand up fiercely for her partner. My affection for Sam is profound, yet at times she can be overly accommodating – a trait that is both her strength and her vulnerability. Therefore, I’m hoping to see her assert her authority, utilize her power, and overcome Elias in the process.

It’d be fascinating to catch a glimpse of Sam showing her bold side more often. It’s not usually seen, but I can’t wait to see her transition into high gear as she attempts to save Jay from this dire situation. I hope she gathers the spirits, devises a rescue plan, and saves her husband from this dreadful predicament. It’s delightful that the actress who portrays her shares this vision too.
