As a veteran gamer who’s been around since the golden days of gaming consoles, I can hardly contain my excitement! The news that Bully is finally making its way to next-gen consoles this August has sent me down memory lane. I remember playing it back in ’06 on my trusty ol’ PlayStation 2, and it was a game like no other.

- According to an insider, Bully is going to be released on next-gen consoles on August 20.
- PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series players will be able to play the game through GTA+.
- Bully originally launched for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 back in 2006.
Based on information from insider Ben, it’s been announced that Rockstar Games will be bringing the classic action-adventure title “Bully” to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles this month. If the leaked info is accurate, the game is expected to release on August 20th. As reported by Ben, Rockstar sent out an email indicating that the game will become available through their service GTA+ in the current month.
As a long-time fan of Rockstar Games, I am thrilled by the news that the Scholarship Edition of Bully will be available on Xbox series consoles. Growing up, I vividly remember playing the original version of this game on my PlayStation 2 and becoming engrossed in its humorous yet thought-provoking storyline. The opportunity to revisit this classic title with enhanced graphics and improved gameplay is a dream come true for me.
Bully Is One Of Gaming’s Greats
A bully game was launched concurrently with Rockstar allowing their satellite studios, including the one based in Vancouver, to develop lesser-budget spin-offs alongside their high-grossing series like Grand Theft Auto, during that period.
Initially presented as a role where you embody the bully, the final outcome deviated significantly from expectations. Instead, our main character, Jimmy Hopkins, took actions to prevent bullying and instead caused harm to protect the victims.
Because of its distinctive concept and innovative backdrop where a problematic teenager is placed in a boarding school, Bully has earned widespread acclaim during its run for its skillfully crafted characters, chilling soundtrack, and storyline, with many deeming it a classic. Predictably, its content sparked controversy as numerous parents objected to its portrayal of sensitive themes and the explicit aspects of Jimmy’s life.
Yahoo! Games identified Bully as among the most contentious games ever produced within the gaming industry. Despite receiving considerable criticism, this game became a significant commercial hit, managing to sell 1.5 million copies by the year 2008, and was subsequently made available on multiple new gaming platforms.
Currently, you have several options to enjoy this game – it’s playable on PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, personal computers, Android devices, as well as the latest consoles like PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and iOS devices too.
